Even if the Southern League has a rulebook they believe to be "cast in stone" they could easily ignore the issue until anyone raised a concern that they were confused whether the guy standing in the goalmouth wearing the contrasting kit was a goalkeeper, as he wasn't wearing a number 1 shirt. :oops: :oops:

Trek, I believe you and others have an account on the excellent NonLeagueMatters forum - could you post a link to the petition there? Several BBC outlets are posting links now, including the official MOTD Facebook, where it is getting hundreds of comments of support. The league simply can't ignore the media attention it has got now
