After a slow start we did a fantastic job of raising the tempo after the break. Some great link up play in the 2nd half, Berwick in particular stretching the Sileby defence and Gearing & Joseph in top form.

Worthy champions, we've really turned on the style in a lot of matches and, more importantly, in the ones we didn't our game management was superb.

With strong young players like Joseph, Lorraine, ELJ etc combined with experienced players who still have a few years left in the tank (Dolman, Ashton, Finners, Confue) things are looking very good ahead of next season.

A tremendous season that will live long in the memory.

crowd tonight was 586. That should boost Sileby's average attendance.

Now level with Thurnby on goals scored 116, they play tomorrow evening.

An excellent all round performance, dolman and Ashton solid, Charlie butt had an excellent game and brad still remains my hero!! Not the best first half but complete domination second half and gave sileby nothing.. It's going to be tough on peaksy deciding who to keep and who to let go.. As tonight proved there is definitely tweaks to be made, and still a lot of moaning on the park, but the celebrations will continue into next season :D

Well done lads, some proud fans there tonight!!!

On a separate note did they open the gate leading out to moulton way somewhere behind the clubhouse, as it seemed to be locked before kick off??

Great crowd that, and on my first visit to Fernie Fields, I must say a very nice set up there as well, the best kept and smartest UCL ground by a mile (apart from the D&D of course ;) ). Only downside was parking just outside the front gate of the ground on the Fernie Field side of the ground, only to be told we had to walk a good few 100 yards round the block and along a main, busy road to get into the other entrance to the ground.

Oh and a special to mention to Quincy of course, who completely cocked up doing one of his trademark pieces of skill in trying to take on Scott Joseph, you could just see what he was going to do knowing him and Scott did well to anticipate it, he's a great character and a great shot stopper of course, but does he ever learn?

There was also a champion performance by those doing the match report, photos, stats and other updates which are all completed. Thanks to Ollie, Mal, Dave M and David K (as well as all the others that have helped this season).

Scott's goal was a fine way to seal the title. He had another fine game as did Matt Gearing, with Tommy Berwick showing for the second game running what he can bring to the team once he gets his shooting boots on. Richard Bunting has really excelled in the past few weeks too, as have the back four with Charlie Butt improving with each game. It was an excellent turn-out of Diamonds fans too.

A big thanks must go to all those that made this possible.

A formality in the end. Dominated the game from start to finish really. Chuffed to be crowned Champions! When we lost at Thurnby Nivarna just before Christmas, I have to say I thought we were going to balls it up, as Holbeach were looking unstoppable. As per normal I have ended up with egg on my face, which in this case I am more than happy to have happened.

Special mention to Scott Joseph for finding his scoring boots, earlier in the season he looked like he was destined never to score, and had me wondering why we brought him back but in recent weeks he has come good and proven himself to be IMO our best front man.

I'm sure I can speak for a few people and say it was a bit strange celebrating a winning the championship, sober and on a Tuesday night away from home! Running onto the pitch not quite sure what the hell to do. I hear a rumour that we will be given the trophy this Saturday. Surely the last game of the season on the 25th would be better, large crowd, end of season party atmosphere and all that. Alas it's the UCL so you'd never expect them to do things the sensible way! Don't have to worry about the UCL's strange ways anymore though!

Praying for the Southern Central Division next year, lots of day trips to London and the lovely Flying Scotsman!

Well done to the players, staff and management for achieving this seasons target with 2 games to spare, onwards and upwards!
