I was thinking exactly the same a couple of days ago. It would be nice to clinch title at D & D.

I would be nice, however, we may clinch promotion against Wellingborough featuring Jake, and have to claim the title on the last day, at home to Cogenhoe featuring Alfie.

Great news about Holbeach losing, a shame that Wisbech won, but you can't get everything.

Promotion at home to Wellingborough, champions at Sileby. :D

I went to Desborough tonight. The start of the match was delayed by 25 minutes as once again Holbeach arrived late.
Richard Lavin made a few decent saves in the first half which ended 0-0 but a very youthful Desborough outfit were well on top in the second half and went 2-0 up and Nick Conroy kept the Tigers in the game before they rather luckily scored direct from a corner with everyone missing the ball. Ar Tarn were worthy winners in the end and quite frankly if Holbeach perform like that in their remaining matches then they won't pick up many more points. Andy Tidswell didn't look fit and was a shadow of the player that we saw last season. I think the travelling support amounted to about half a dozen!

I wish some of you guys would stop talking about when we're going to win the title, it's certainly not a formality! with 10 games to play there is a lot of hard work to do still.

Yaxley v Wisbech was without doubt the highest tempo 90 minutes of football I've seen all season and great credit to both sides for keeping it going and serving up a really entertaining game of football on a bitterly cold evening. Could have gone either way and a little indecision between the defender and goalkeeper allowed Billy Smith to nip in and tuck it away for the winner at the death. At the final whistle they celebrated as though they'd won the World Cup.

Yaxley played some good stuff and were unlucky not to have had a penalty in the second half. On the balance of play a 2-2 would have been fair, but if you play to the last seconds you get your rewards and Wisbech, to their credit, did that.

Really pleased I went, Wisbech are a good side and we'll have our hands full to beat them, but they're no better than us for sure, I'm not unduly worried, but I'm not going to get too complacent about it. They've crept up on us really as we've been looking at Holbeach and are scoring goals freely, so have to be taken as a serious threat.

I listened to a couple of their fans before the game started talking about if they won the title could they apply for promotion now, one bloke thought it was highly possible they could. I wanted to say "no chance", but in the weird and wonderful world that is the UCL anything could happen. Let's win those last 10 games and put this thing to bed eh?

I want to talk about winning the league, I don't want to talk about finishing 2nd.
It is called light-hearted banter. All fans do it.

I know - and it makes me as nervous as hell.

I don't want to contemplate finishing 2nd, in the position we're in we should go on to win it - but I saw enough tonight to make me realise that Wisbech believe they can overhaul us. They're a good side and nothing is done and dusted yet!

That said I'd love to wrap it up on the 11th April ;)

I agree with you FOOTYMAN I want us to win the league, thought it was a shame Wisbech won, but you can't get everything.

Its in are hands, :D we win every game we champions, we could afford this, win every game (bar drawing to Wisbech) we champions. :D
