Let's hope our players don't have the same issues this weekend with the Black Cat being closed again.Trek wrote:Chatting to one of Holbeach's committee last evening, it would appear that Drury walked away from the Tigers halfway through extra time in their KO Cup match against Rothwell.
He also said that nobody from Holbeach was aware that there were roadworks on the A1, approaching the Black Cat RAB, last Saturday. He had the team kit and left at 12.30pm believing he had sufficient time and arrived at Kempston 3 hours later when the score was 1-1! As a consequence Holbeach had to play in Kempston's away kit.
One way and another it seems that Holbeach are in free fall. Even Chand was not present at last night's match.

Looks like it will be closed all weekend. Best to completely avoid it ...

and it may have a knock on effect with cars leaving the A1 just South of St Neots.

Re: Graham Drury
Travelling from Rushden through Kimbolton you shouldn't need to go anywhere near Black Cat. My colleague who lives in St.Neots recommends allowing a bit extra as the town centre can get busy on a Saturday lunchtime
Re: Graham Drury
No need to go near the Town Center, go round St Neots on the A428 Bypass to the Little Barford ROB left up past Tesco 200yds from there is car park Entrance 2, or up to ROB 1st exit and main ground entrance is 1st left.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Travelling from Rushden through Kimbolton you shouldn't need to go anywhere near Black Cat. Re: Graham Drury
Interesting Ground Hopper's match report from Holbeach's match at Thurnby last evening particularly the comments about Thurnby.
Thurnby Nirvana-3 v Holbeach United-0
Admission - £5
Programme - £1
"It was many happy returns and 21 again for my non-league mentor GTV and as a special birthday treat we decided to forgo a trip to Kirby and instead get a 'bracketed tick' in Thurnby Lodge. This was my first league game on this ground and GTV's first under the club's current Thurnby Nirvana name. I last visited the place in pre-season when Carlton Town were the visitors and since then Thurnby have done nothing to improve the facilities. If they want to stay at this level then they surely need to do something and fast. More rumours tonight that the current owner of the ground wants the Nirvana gang kicked out and the team re-forming as Thurnby Rangers at a lower level...only time will tell!
The surroundings are senior league standard but the attitude of the home team are well below Sunday pub league stuff. The Thurnby manager spent the game mouthing off at the officials (even refusing to talk to the ref when he was called over to do so), and because of some juicy Holbeach tackles, some of the Thurnby players began threatening members of the away side and were as hostile as I've ever seen on a football pitch. How the ref didn't send any of them off was a mystery.
All of this was a great shame as Thurnby actually played some good stuff and in players like ex-Hinckley Utd man Liam Canavan and Reece Morris they have real talent. Holbeach who are under new management couldn't live with them and proved very poor opponents on the night. One thing which has improved is the match programme. Whereas before it was just a folded A4 sheet of paper, it now has good content and some stats in it, and it looks very similar to Oadby Town's effort this season."

Re: Graham Drury
So the above is clear confirmation of things I think we were already aware. Thurnby is a s..t hole full of more than a healthy selection of sad horrible people, and as a Club it`s an almost racing cert they will be chucked out of UCL Prem next season, probably Step 5. At which point the Club in it`s present form will either fold or drop down to lower level football and loose all the decent players, leaving Leicester with another Pub Team of thugs, all the above will indeed be a sad lose to errrrrr oh yes "Nobody".

Re: Graham Drury
Did anybody else see that Thurnby's top scorer Liam Canavan (the one with the long curly hair) is currently on trial at Notts County.
They seem to be a bit of a breeding ground for talented players in Leicester. Stamford's front two Ryan Robbins and Jordan Smith both came from Thurnby Nirvana.

They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
