Does this put us top? and by my reckoning have Sileby dropped from 1st to 4th?

So assuming Sileby win their game in hand, we're level on points with them but 5 goals in GD between us, extremely close but I hope these late goals conceded don't cost us. Just had a look at the fixtures and there's a possibility we could have to be supporting Whitworths of all teams on the 7th when they play Sileby, though still a long way to go yet and we of course probably can't afford to drop a single point, its pretty exciting to be in this position at the end of our first season!

ON Chenecks were a side for whom every second touch was a slide tackle. Assuming Hopey's OK following that outrageous elbow at the end i'm just pleased we've seen that game through with no serious injuries.
As for the ref. WTF? I'm all for letting the game flow but every now and then it is his job to blow his whistle or flash a card. God knows where he got that injury time from at the end, must have been pushing 100 minutes there and what for? I need to calm down. ;)
Anyway, first half I though we were outstanding and should have been out of sight, second half we made it needlessly difficult for ourselves by conceding a sloppy goal and we very nearly blew it completely. Still, it's another game down and another win, and we're top of the league!!!

Another win but I fear that a slip up may creep in. We were well in control in the first half and should have put the game to bed. With others around us making unexpected slip Ups, let's hope Starms can rally the troops to keep this run going

Indeed, it wasn't that far away from being a slip up today, was nervous everytime they had a long throw in, there must have been about 10 in the last half an hour, but thankfully we just survived. But at the moment I'm not entirely sure we'll be able to avoid a slip up with the games coming up, we'll raise our game for Eynesbury and we haven't dropped a single point to a team outside the top 4 since October, but the Potton and Spencer games, considering Potton have proved tough for the big teams to beat and Spencer's victory over Sileby, are both quite dodgy.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Another win but I fear that a slip up may creep in. First half we were brilliant, second half was mostly Chenecks, referee was shocking, where did he get that 10 minutes added time from?! (well not 10 minutes, but felt like it!)

I'm convinced that we'll slip up at some point. You don't go through the season with that much luck and we've already had loads of dodgy, tense one-goal wins; Harrowby, R+H, Bourne, Potton, Rothwell and now today. At some point there will be a comeback because we just don't see games through comfortably and take our chances.
Top of the league, but I'm still a bit annoyed. Chenecks were shit and their no.2 was so fat, it was hilarious. Now let's see if Sileby can get back to winning ways on Tuesday, it's nice to see some pressure.
