I know his short spell at Diamonds wasn’t great but having watched him a lot over the past couple of seasons he’s certainly developed into a very good footballer, unfortunately he either can’t or won’t realise that every confrontation on the pitch doesn't require his involvement, it’s something he must address as he’s now targeted by teams and it sadly works. I think it’s 6 reds in 2 seasons which equalled about 15/20 missed games. Hopefully he’s learnt his lesson as IMO he can definitely go higher up the leagues.

A sensible, balanced assessment, I don't hold anything against young players who leave, it's not easy for players dropping out of pro setups into non league, plus there are some so called agents in non league who are bad influences, I hope they all go on to develop and have good careers, let's face it in non league players often go full circle and in 10 years time when we are in Conference North a 32 year old Jay Williams could be a very good signing for us

The fact he's gone on to Banbury, won promotion and gained Conference North experience says he's been doing something right, he was obviously well regarded at Northampton Town to have gained first team opportunities, it would be nice to see him reach his potential.
