Hard to know how to feel about that. Barwell are not a good side at all, made us look good - especially second half.
We actually made 3/4 very good chances which is a lot more than the last few games. For once i thought the subs made an impact!
Still, another defeat at home with a poor crowd which is only going get lower. Feels like dark times..
Also - Shanks sitting on his own away from the subs in the pouring rain after coming off was odd and worrying!

I'm not so sure about having 2 players take over, we'll need someone with experience and contacts so for me it'd be a call to a Mr. Lamb and see if he's interested just until the end of this season. Then assess it. Midfield needs some attacking flair .

It did occur to me that our form has generally dipped since Lamb left.

As much as I love Bully and Tom I think we would need a new face. Promoting from within rarely works

Too many knee jerk opinions I would suggest in the wake of a disappointing result after a match that should have gone our way if we had shown a tad more composure in their penalty box. On one of he few occasions Barwell ventured into our half in the second half they got a bit of luck, as often happens in these situations to get a very fortunate and unexpected late winner which they celebrated as if they had won the FA Cup.
Andy will know the time when it will be right to hand over the reins. It’s a tight league and a couple of wins would see us advance up the table. I personally would not be in favour of Paul Lamb returning as I, for one, did not enjoy the style of football that he clearly advocates with too much ‘hoff ball’.

Isn't just "a disappointing result" though is it? It's week after week of the same poor performance. 100% we should have won last night, but again we didn't. They had one chance and scored, we had a hatful and didn't. Every point we've taken this season, with the exception of Nuneaton, we've scraped.
Bottom of the league are Hitchin, and we were ridiculously lucky to beat them. Barwell worst team we've played by a long way, and we lost.
When do you see it changing? Do you honestly think we'll see a reaction from management on Saturday, or will we line up exactly the same again and expect a different result

You’re not the only one who thinks that.

You know I respect your opinion Trek, but these reactions aren't knee-jerk. Admittedly I have missed a handful of games this season, but I have only seen us play well once this season against a team that are currently in the relegation zone. Game-after-game, it's the same. A comment earlier suggested we 'had a right go' yesterday. Presumably they're referring to the last 5-10 minutes because before that, we absolutely did not have a go. We didn't work the Goalkeeper until Tshikuna came on. I thought we were marginally the better side yesterday on the whole but let's not kid ourselves, it was two desperate sides.
Peaks could quite rightly in my opinion say that he is being let down by things outside of his control - the lack of food putting everyone in a bad mood, the lack of atmosphere and encouragement from the fans, a budget so low (if certain people are to be believed) that we should be consider him as the second coming of Jesus just for keeping us at this level. Ultimately though if things were better on the pitch other things would fall in to place, or supporters might be happier to withstand the issues knowing that they were being entertained. I doubt the budget has got worse over the past couple of years especially given the contribution supporters are making to it through the monthly prize draw, but the team absolutely has gone backwards quite some way, of that there can be no doubt.

Biggleswade has to be the game to win and win well
That game is followed by 3 away games at Stratford, Matlock and Hednesford then we have the matter of a Home cup tie against K*ttering.
