So now we have to win 3 games in a row. The only time we have done that in the league this season was when we beat Coalville home, Spalding away and Stocksbridge away........is that a good omen?

Coalville was in the FA Trophy. We have been dreadfully inconsistent in the league, and quite how we are in this position I don't know, but obviously we'll take it, as last season few would have given us hope of beating Royston after seeing the dreadful performance against them at the D&D - and after seeing the dreadful away performances later in the season at Arlesey and Leighton.

We could easily have lost yesterday after once again we failed to get the second goal, especially given the Stamford claims for the ball being over the line - http://www.srsn.co.uk/sport/football/Go ... ig-victory We have Carlton Town to thank for us still having our playoff destiny in our own hands - but clearly that shows they will be a real challenge on Saturday.

I expect us to beat Carlton so have already booked a night in a hotel for the night of the 25th less than couple of miles from Witton's ground as my wife and I decided to have a few days away next week and Cheshire seemed as good a place as anywhere. :joy: We're very flexible on our plans, so dependent on Tuesday's result(s) probably might visit the Peak District as well.

Fantastic we're in this position.

No matter how poor we've this season, all of that counts for nothing now we're 3 games away from what would be a huge promotion. Anything can happen.

All the best for sourcing a Carlton Town shirt for Saturday Corby Diamond :drinks:

I didn't realise that having an opinion (and an honest one at that) results in me being a fan of every opposition we play.. But then again I suppose banter from you is bit of a laugh.. then again we only hear your views on the last few games of the season providing we're in the play offs.. wonder if you would have made it had we been bottom half

Form goes flying out of the window come the play-offs, looking at how we've played over recent weeks is pointless - but let's get there first eh?

Carlton showed they're no pushovers yesterday, so we need to be focused and on our game - go into this half-arsed and we'll come a cropper for sure! We should go into this with the same mentality as the Newcastle game - treat it as a must win !! Because it is! Lose or draw and our season is over! Simple!

If we get to the playoffs then it's anyone's game - as we saw last year, who gave us a chance against Royston? Probably the performance of the season followed! We've got that in us again!

Afternoon is booked off work for Tuesday just in case, but a massive match on Saturday first! The jobs not done until it's done!

Haha, you said you didn't want us to get promoted!

It's a shame for you because we're gonna do it

When we do, and I'm sure I speak for all of us on this forum, I look forward to your ridiculous post about which players we should get rid of for next season, based on watching all the AFCRDTV highlights this season.

Haha.

I mean the season I created the infamous retained list post (the best thread on this forum since the football league days), I went to around half the games, and last season I made about 25%. Reading back I stand by every single opinion, vindicated by subsequent decisions by management and recent opinions from the right people on this forum. I'll be reserving comment this season given my attendance is a solid 0%. The only issues anyone could subsequently have were my opinions on Tom Lorraine and Brad Harris, which of course, should be left alone until the end of the season. Whether they're good enough is irrelevant right now as they've been great club servants and would love nothing more than them seeing us home in the play offs.

2015/16 - "I wouldn't be fussed if Lorraine, Kennedy, Harris and all the new players that came in March who didn't make an impact were not retained. I stand by the fact that Lorraine isn't good enough and if we had a better striker up front this season, we would have been promoted."

2014/15: "Release Butt, Gillingwater, King, Turner, Berwick, Lorraine and Rogers"
