Thanks for that, it does seem the obvious place for the management to update fans of this issue.

I actually really enjoyed last night's game. Yes, it wasn't an outstanding performance, yes, we should have scored a hatful, and yes, we took our foot of the gas a bit in the middle of the second half, but we still played some really good football in what must have been difficult conditions given the gale force winds. Coupled with some good banter with both 'keepers, and the Ducks' captain (who for the first time ever had me feeling sympathetic towards an opposition player, with his teary eyed plea to "give us a break" :cheesy: ), it was all in all a good night.

I have to disagree with Formic for once as well; I thought we were significantly better than that S&L game a couple of years ago. That game, the whole team looked disinterested and lacked any real effort, against a truly dire team. The effort was certainly there last night against a team who are clearly struggling at the moment, but who are IMO better than their league position suggests.

Finally, a special mention for Joe Ackroyd. I think I'm right in saying that Joe was in the youth setup at the old club (under Peaksy's management), and re-joined us when we first set up our Academy a few years ago, so he's been a Diamond for a number of years already (with a brief hiatus between the end of the old club, and start of the new). What a fantastic story to now see him playing for the first team and getting his name on the scoresheet last night! :clapping:

Andy Peaks does suggest in todays Telegraph that he will be strengthening the squad in the coming weeks with so many games to be played between now and New Year (10 I believe) and with injuries to ELJ, Spriggs, Herbert and Ashton plus of course Bully's suspension.

Last night we saw Da Costa for few minutes and he looks a big strong lad. I presume Liversedge and Butt were not available last night.

It would be good for Pinder and Ackroyd, to have some more minutes on the pitch as it can only give them experience and they represent the future........not to mention the investment the club have made in Youth.

Did we previously sign a Costa when we were in the UCL? If so, is it the same one as last night's?

I didn't go last night, so I can't comment on the performance. Although it's been nice to win 3-1 vs Barton and 4-0 vs Aylesbury, I do think there will come a time where we have to say 'no actually we need to be taking a few more chances and winning 5/6-0'. It would be nice to see (and send out a terrific message to the rest of the league) if we could be ruthless for 2/3 games in a row and keep our foot down when the games are won at HT.

The table's looking nice and would look even nicer if the SL could finally get their act together and deal with this King's Langley game.

Can only agree. What exactly are they waiting for on this.

They are probably waiting for the FA first to announce their punishment on the clubs. I would imagine both clubs were charged with failing to control their players and that both clubs have submitted their comments, all we await now is the date for a hearing.

Following the FA decision then the SL can decide if game is to be replayed or left to stand and if any points to be deducted.

Purely my thoughts: I reckon FA will fine both clubs £500 and give warning to future behaviour and that the SL will
let result stand but give both clubs a 1 point deduction.

So on that basis our League position will not "look even nicer".

I don't think there's any precedence for teams being deducted points in this situation, so I'd be shocked if it happened on this occasion. I think there are only 2 possible outcomes; the result will stand with both sides keeping the point gained, or the game will have to be replayed. Initially I thought it would be the former, but the more this drags on, the more I think they'll make us replay it.

I thought we generally played okay and kept the ball well, it was just some poor decisions in front of goal, a lack of striking on goal early when the opportunity arose and sometimes "greedy" play that prevented us scoring a ton of goals last night. 0-4 will do - on to our next big game Saturday! :)

Great to see Joe score, the way he linked up with Matt for the goal was brilliant !!

I would certainly bow to your greater knowledge and experience. I hope you are right.

Several people, myself included, commented on the quality of club / team updates that last weekend's opponents produce - the one covering our game is at http://godalmingtownfc.co.uk/gt/update- ... dy-hunt-5/ It would be good to have something similar, possibly via the post-match interview, to give us a regular insight into which of the missing players is injured or unavailable for other reasons. It was certainly a surprise to see the line-up on the bench on Wednesday - and thus even more impressive that they produced the goods when given the chance.
