I think Turner is one of those kind of players that needs to play game after game to get the best out of him, plus he is a goal predator who feeds off good service into the 6 yard box, and we haven't given it. His record speaks for itself. We've been unlucky with Dunks and injury, Scott for me is an impact player, he's someone you bring on to offer something different if it's not happening, I don't think he's a 90 minute player personally. Tom is probably the most improved player for me this year, he's done well, his dip in form has come at the same time as others around him.
We are top of the league remember, for now, and we've scored quite a few goals to get there.
Would Alfie improve us? I don't know, he's a nice lad, but he comes with baggage and we'd probably have to unload someone if we were to have him back, I'm not convinced he's better than what we have already though. Berwick on the other hand is proven at a higher level and I've seen him play, he's a real handful !! if we get the chance of a player of his quality within budget, then I'd take it, especially with the Rogers signing who will give better service from the flanks.
Another new signing?

Re: Another new signing?
Unless Parky has signed contract terms with Daventry (and I very much doubt he has) then the situation hasn't changed at all. You cannot cancel a UCL registration unless the player signs a contract with a team in another league.Brownie wrote:On a separate note Daventry have announced that yesterday what was a duel registration deal with Parky has now changed and he has signed for them, presume we await confirmation before a post appears in Ex Players thread. If this is correct, all the best Parky, a great servant to the Club during his time here and a genuinely nice bloke on and off the pitch.
I guess that we've allowed Parky to play and train with Daventry on a more permanent basis, rather than him just filling in every now and again. If this is the case, and we're unlikely to see him back, then I'll echo Brownie's sentiments; he's had a great 2 years with us, and it will be sad to see him go.

Re: Another new signing?
He left Wellingborough because "he doesn't do bench". So that would make his return to us unlikely.diamondgeezer1 wrote:There's no doubting he's a legend, he's earned that with the goals he scored.Rushdenjim wrote:Alfie Taylor tweeted earlier 'I would love a return to a former club.............. But, if he did come back to us he'd have to accept that he'd be benched at certain times, and accept the fact that he's not top dog, which is why I think he threw his toys out of his pram, and left originally.
Just my opinion. Personally I'd love to see him back.
Edit: By the way, where is Alfie at the moment? He didn't feature in either of our games against Wellingborough

In Div 1 perhaps but not in the Prem. Alfie was a player we needed at the time. We don't now.sussexdiamond wrote: A successful team needs a 30 goals a season man, and Alfie is that man.
