Holbeach only won 5-2 so their goal difference lead is cut to 5, with the two games in hand.
BTW, a hat-trick of assists for ELJ according to Twitter. Maybe we could just start him every other game? So inconsistent!

Completely different player from the weekend, causing problems with his pace winning corners and free-kicks and obviously the assists. Goals of the highest quality from Dunks, Lorraine and possibly the best headed goal from an AFC player from Turner. Suberbly whipped in cross from ELJ and a diving header with power left the keeper with no chance. Looked like it was going to have to be a hard fought victory during the first half, as Desborough were tough to break down, but the penalty on the stroke of half time seemed to be the killer blow. More wins like this on wet Tuesday nights will see us in good stead to push for the title.

Now we're starting to look more like a team that has a chance of challenging at the top of the table, another convincing victory tonight and I agree, some great goals too. Pleased to see Dunks back in the squad and he had another great game, as did all the front line really, so that's promising.
2 games left now to hopefully win to build confidence going into the big end of the month game against Holbeach!

The first half was dire, coupledvwith the second half on Saturday 90 minutes that you'll never get back.
Thankfully the second half was much better and we looked dangerous every time we went forward. Lovely goal from Turner.

I can only echo what everyone else has said, bit of a dour first half, but the second half was terrific I thought - movement, pace, some cracking goals and all from our strikers - ELliott caused loads of problems for them tonight, his cross for Turner's goal was sublime and deserved the quality of the finish.
5 goals, a clean sheet, 3 points and we move on to Saturday - I'm happy with that, just a shame more weren't there to see it! 23 goals for in the last 4 games hopefully will start to tempt a few back, I know it's a wet Tuesday evening, but 325? A little disappointed !!
Oh, and I hope Joe is okay and it's nothing serious, looked like a shocking follow through on a prone player from where we were, anyone closer get a good look - the ref obviously didn't !!

Some lovely stuff played by the lads in the second half tonight, whatever was said at half time seemed to work.

325 given out on twitter - either way not impressive for a top 3 side (sounds good to say that)

It was a fine second half performance and put us back on track.
I think we must focus on the Thurnby game rather than looking ahead too far to the Holbeach game. Like us, Thurnby have scored 23 goals in their previous four games, so our defence will need to be on top form.
