Yeah, definitely, Dunks's consistency in the air is quite remarkable at times for this level and I hope him and Gearing have only been rested the last few games because of the relatively weak opposition, cause while Tom and Elliot have done well over the last few weeks and worked hard, I'd still start Dunks and Gearing ahead of them any day really and hopefully those 2 will be getting more gametime in the next few weeks, especially with midweek games coming up.TheIncognitoKid wrote:I would add Dunks to that as well, always a threat, proved it today. Agree that they were not as bad as I thought they would be, they should have been buried out of sight by half time and we could have had a few changes earlier in the 2nd half. A clean sheet was most welcome as were 3 points. I thought their right back should have been sent off, but, the ref was poor. 3 more points on tuesday will put the pressure on the teams above, and Yaxley lost and Huntingdon drew at home.
Dunks and Gearing should start and get the momentum going ready for the Holbeach fixture.

The two lads in centre midfield excepted Oddby were woeful. We didn't need to get out of second gear, so didn't bother.
Should the goalie have gone for handball?

Fair enough we were 2-0 up but I thought it represented a good opportunity to bag more goals as we bid to increase attendances. Peaks could have made changes earlier I thought as we were looking pretty stale.
Still, a win's a win and we kept a clean sheet so well done to the lads
I agree a fairly straight forward 3-0 win. Good to see Yaxley lose and Huntingdon draw also with us closing are goal difference on Holbeach.
Yaxley game was a good kick up the ass for are lads.

Yes he should, not that I would agree but an argument can be made if the keeper makes an effort to stop his momentum and/or releases the ball as soon as he realises he's outside the area. Neither happened so by the letter of the law he should have gone, even if John Cleese considered it only a yellow, thenSouthRushdenJFC wrote: Should the goalie have gone for handball?
Was the ball then being launched 30 yards not worthy of another yellow??
Looking forward to Taffy Jones match report, sure they were robbed, nice bit of class from Mr Fothering-Smyth the recently departed Chairman, turning up in his Leicester City coat

I agree I thought their two central midfielders were good, perhaps a couple that have hung around from last season. As a whole they were better than their league position suggests.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:The two lads in centre midfield excepted Oddby were woeful. The handball was so deliberate it deserved a red. I can cope with a 'keeper doing it by accident but he knew what he was doing and knew where he was.
The win was the main thing, it was convincing enough but we did struggle to create chances and ELJ had 'one of those days'... again which didn't help. I wish he'd find some consistency.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

No, yellow card for that IMO, but he should have gone for kicking the ball away immediately afterwards - 2 yellows !!SouthRushdenJFC wrote: Should the goalie have gone for handball?

I'm still not sure Dunks is 100% match fit, plus Tom has been scoring goals, but I see what you're getting at - Peaksy will know the right time to throw Dunks into the fray - he took his goal well today didn't he?TheIncognitoKid wrote:I would add Dunks to that as well, always a threat, proved it today. Very well, was really impressed with his ability there. Physicality caused Oadby problems all day, shame we didn't have the right players on the pitch at the start to really exploit thatPigman wrote:I'm still not sure Dunks is 100% match fit, plus Tom has been scoring goals, but I see what you're getting at - Peaksy will know the right time to throw Dunks into the fray - he took his goal well today didn't he?TheIncognitoKid wrote:I would add Dunks to that as well, always a threat, proved it today.
