Great effort from the lads. Was a little concerned when I saw Dunks & Gearing on the bench and Sam Brown out entirely (hope he's ok) but ELJ and Turner were superb in the first half, Lorraine showing plenty of endeavour too, and after the break Confue & Dolman each capped off strong performances with glorious strikes.

15 goals in 2 games, cracking stuff and fully deserved.

I said to my dad before the game that it was only a matter of time before we saw a Dolman cracker and there it was, what a beauty :o :D

But a very enjoyable performance in the league for once, Sileby were atrocious at the back at times and I'm surprised they had only conceded 12 in 6 before today, but we were clinical going forward and exploited their weaknesses well and there were some superb performances in there from players like Confue (who must have had 3 or 4 assists with the goal?), ELJ and obviously Turner with his hattrick. Hopefully we can continue the scoring and start to build our confidence up with the Holbeach game on the horizon against our old foes Oadby next week!

One for the Statto's amongst us. Third goal today was our 200th in 79 UCL matches.

I just wish we could start recording some clean sheets, but that is being too much of a perfectionist when we have just scored 15 goals in two games.

Re: their goal. I thought their build-up play was quite good TBF, especially the first touch before the saved shot. Having said that, once the ball looped up from the save, it should've been cleared.

Apart from that there wasn't much to complain about, that's the kind of scoreline that will get our crowds back up to 600! ELJ with a couple of lovely crosses today and looked better than Gearing when he came on. Dunks was unlucky not to get at least one when he came on.

Oh and as for Dolman's goal, I couldn't help but think of Alan Partridge's commentary afterwards."TWAT! That was liquid football!"

I agree that ELJ was superb today, what a goal from Dolman. Crowds to go back up to 600 would be nice.

We can't afford to get to placement. Keep banging in the goals, 3 points. :D

An emphatic win and a performance the lads can take forward and build on - could have been a dozen easy yesterday had Dunks came along with his shooting boots on ;)

ELJ put all the things right that I criticised him for the other week, well done to him on a great personal performance, some of the crosses he pinged in yesterday were too drawer. Like others, before the game I thought Gearing and Dunkley should start, but Peaksy got it spot on.

I'm really lookin forward to next Saturday and the visit of Oadby - we owe them one!! Hopefully the last two results will show we're on our way now and we'll get a few more folk down to watch the boys !!

Special mention had to be made of Confue and Dolman's goals - bang ! Thunderbolts the pair and I can't wait to see them on the video !! After Confue had scored I think we were all willing Dolman to have a dig and when he did, pick of the bunch for me :)

I wasn't feeling at my best yesterday, but that win perked me up no end - just wish we had a midweek game to keep the momentum going. Roll on Saturday !!

As good as Dolman's and Confue's goals were, I think Tom Lorraine's header was just as good. ELJ whipped that cross in a pace and got contact to find the net. He's worked hard when given his chance knowing he's not always fist choice in the starting 11.
I'm under the impression that Tuesday night's game against BPW gave the team the belief to go and score a few goals, think that game came at the right time!

Took about 15/20 mins and them to score a goal for us to get going, but once we did there was only ever going to one one winner.

However I still walked out of yesterday games not feeling 100% that we are near a title winning side. Before you people say "but we've won our last 2 games and scored 15 goals" which obviously is some going. We still look extremely vulnerable at the back. I fear that any half decent side with a bit of extra pace and a couple of strikers that can actually finish we will be found out.

As harsh as it sounds we simply have to start keeping clean sheets! Spalding's success last year was built on the fact they could keep clean sheet after clean sheet and then combine that with good finishing at the other end. I still think we can find another couple of gears in our performances, it's all good beating BPW and Sileby by big margins but against Yaxley, and Boston 2 reasonable side we struggled to break them down at will and then couldn't keep a clean sheet. Can't quite put.my finger on what it is but I'm just not convinced we can win this league the as we are at the moment and judging by the attendances over the last 2 home games there's 150-200 people out there that still need convincing also.
