Has anyone actually seen Greg Ling have a good game? Or ever put in any decent levels of effort?

Under normal circumstances I'd say booing players is too far, but this appears to be an exceptional case of an exceptional lack of talent and an exceptional lack of effort. Fans deserve their say, especially at this level when there's no transfer windows, no end of players out there, and no solid commitments to the player in question. We're not going to make it to the top by giving endless chances to a player.

Two options. Ling starts performing, or Peaks gets rid of him, then we can all get back to cheering on players who deserve to wear the shirt.

Ability I agree. Effort has been there on the whole IMO.

It was very disappointing to hear such barbed criticism of one of our own players during the game today. I know people have paid money to get to the game, and feel that entitles them to express an opinion, but others have also paid, and want to get behind their team and see it perform at its best, something that wont happen if one of them is being barracked.

I tried to move to the other side of the pitch to get away from them, but their taunts were audible at that distance, so must have been heard by the player concerned.

On a positive note, some of our fans deserve tremendous praise for applauding the Arrows keeper as he left the pitch injured - despite his time-wasting antics throughout the game

Couldn't agree with you more. It's sick that people slag off/criticism there own players.

I have my own opinion of players and their performances and will voice these with my fellow fans over a pint in the club/pub or while stood on the touch line, but to shout out obscenities and ridicule a player while he is playing and wearing our colours is unacceptable in my book, as is a concerted campaign on social media and the like. Trying to destroy what little confidence a player may have left is counter productive to supporting the team.

At the end of the day decisions will be made by the management team and I give them my full support, they stand it fall on those decisions at the end if the day. But to me, to single out one player and constantly berate him is wrong. If he's not up to the standard we need then the management will make that decision - not me, not you!! That's what they're paid to do!! Keeping morale of the whole squad high is massively important, to have a team mate targeted in this way will adversely affect that!!

I will always give all players who pull the shirt on my full support while they are playing, it's not helping either his confidence or that of his team mates to not do so IMO !! I agree all fans who pay their money have a right to have their say, but I'd ask them to show some respect and support to ALL our players while they are playing.

Great post Pigman, excellent couldn't agree with you more. Shouting it out is bang out of order. That will make it worse. It will get them down. So don't do it. 8-)

:lol: I think the majority of supporters slag off/criticise their own players. If I had a pound for every time I heard someone shout something critical at Michael Rankine after he missed his 8543rd 1-on-1 for the club I'd be a very very rich man.

Dave, you can't honestly tell me that someone like Wizz, Lance or even Liburd, where any worse than Ling? Wizz and Lance where certainly better.
I can't say I know this level of football well enough to say exactly who I'd have. What about someone like Louis Smith I'm assuming he's in the U21's still. Everyone raves about how good his left foot is. Give him a go.

Give him a chance? He's had half the season last season, preseason and now 6 games in this season. No sign of any improvement.

I'm sure the majority of people on here that would love to see me shape up (I'm a bit of a fat b*stard) and then promptly Ef off to be honest. Alas unfortunately I'll be sticking around and seeing everyones happy smiling faces on Saturday. When we can all clap,applaud and cheer when GL does something outstanding. Could be a very queit afternoon for us all.
