It was quite a way to celebrate our 100th game with one of the best performances I've seen. We were so much sharper than Bedford who created very little in the first period, then saw us have four great chances to get the third at the start of the second half - with the keeper making some good saves, especially from Matt Gearing. We defended really well too, as Bedford then forced a few corners before we got the penalty which was a bit ball to hand, but the defender had raised his arm.

Now THAT is how to play football. Awesome performance, thoroughly deserved win and should have been more, some passages of play tonight were breathtaking. Well done guys, and well done to Peaksy for mixing it up tonight, team selection was spot on (although granted, some were forced changes).

Cracking display and one of the best AFC R&D away days for a while. Had to be a good 350 away fans. Couldn't fault any of the lads and Peaksy got the team selection spot-on. Tom Lorraine put in a performance I wasn't sure he was capable of and staked a claim for a more regular spot. I wouldn't change a thing for Saturday.

Bring on Hendon! Can't wait.

Couldn't make the match on Saturday and tonight I thought we would be in for a tough cup tie, but far from it. From the start we dominated the home side and after taking an early lead we never looked back. Tonight showed one of the main reasons that jason turner was brought to the club with his work rate, creativity and goal scoring ability. He was immense. At least a 9 out of 10 and mom. There were top performances from Harris and Oriya and possibly Tom Lorraine's best game in a diamonds shirt. Now we're hoping for more of the same with the trip to Hendon, a decent established non-league club.

They said on Radio Diamonds that Jack Ashton is suspended from the 6th September so maybe a start for Joe Merrill?

I thought we were on the front foot from the start. The front four, aided by Confuse caused Bedford problems all evening and, in truth we could and should have three more.

Defensively we looked solid and I don't really remember Finners have much to do, good to see Merrill back on the pitch as well.

Harris was quietly efficient as usual and Confuse carried on from where he'd left off at PNS. Fazel and Viva Matt got at the full backs from the start and the number three was possibly lucky to stay on the pitch.

I fear it's going to be a long season for Bedford, they seem very one dimensional, and on that performance would struggle to break the top ten of the UCL.
