Regarding the parking, i'd thought myself that it doesn't look great, I think I might just get there a little early and attempt to get one of the parking spaces at the club itself.
Just pointing out the reason why the football club created the access from Talavera Way but I agree with you that residents cannot complain if anyone wishes to park in Fernie Field or the surrounding roads provided that no driveways are blocked. I've actually decided to get there early to park in the car park on the ground.

Please note that there is a safe walkway from the industrial estate through parklands, this brings you off the main carriageway by the side of the fire station. There is a crossing here so you can safely access the old entrance through Fernie Fields. Please note we ask that you do not park within Fernie Fields housing estate. Hope we've covered it off. It must have been easier away at Leeds United!

I don't dispute it Paul you're probably correct just seems ridiculous.

It looks like the locals have a lot of influence - and looks like they had a bit of a challenge from them to be allowed floodlights too - but those going to the bowling green weren't seen as such a problem - http://www.northamptonboroughcouncil.co ... Ground.pdf .

"‘It is considered that the provision of floodlights to permit evening football matches will result in a material intensification in the use of the facilities which will seriously harm the amenities of the occupiers of nearby dwellings by reason of the additional activity that will result and the noise and disturbance likely to be associated therewith.’"

Very interesting, Tony. I wonder if BPW/KTFC will encounter similar objections in their development plans for Latimer Park?

There is very rarely a 'crowd' at Whyte Melville / Fernie Fields Bowls Club. Only for about 5 months of the year on a Thursday or Saturday once a fortnight. If you want something to do when the football season is over, take up bowls!

Later planning approval regarding vehicular access from Talavera Way. You can see why Sileby Rangers don't want vehicles in the residential area.

Well it must be a big game because I'm coming for once! My first show since Hayden Road, and for the record, U18's last season or senior side this season, we've won every game I've attended!!!

that ought to jinx it good and proper!
