2 goals were disallowed and I'm not sure about the Raunds team.

Haha, someone wasnt paying attention to the Ref, the ball was in our net 5 times but two goals were ruled out! I believe there were reserves, Im 99% sure that some of there players were not under the age of 18

3-0 was the final result, 2 goals disallowed in the 2nd half.

It was Raunds reserves, a lot of their players were clearly of a bigger build than our squad.

Fair play to them.. when my brothers team had their first match against a much more experienced side they lost 22-0.. so not bad considering....

Anyone look promising? and any team sheet?

If they're playing against men then that's not really a bad result on the face of it. Obviously wan't there myself.

Attendance is also encouraging. I just hope it remains at a similar level and people aren't put off by a relatively heavy loss.

Considering it was there first game it was not a bad effort although the 3 nil result was probably fair. The team looked like they lacked a physical presence and although it sounds harsh a few of the lads clearly aren't good enough. I'm sure Mark starmer will get a competitive team together for the first league game though. Excellent crowd there today though and hopefully people will come back.

I dont think it was a case of the Raunds lads being older or bigger built, because they wern't. Spoke to the tall blonde Raunds striker, no.9 I think, and he said he was the only player who wasn't under 18. They were just simply the better side. Our lads looked and bit nervous, but they've only just met and it was their first game together, so in that respect I think we done ok. Good turnout, I'd guess at just under 300.

Fair summary. Once they have gelled and learnt how to defend lightweight crosses we will have a better understanding.
