I do agree with them what an awful experience it is visiting Braintree's ground though. I'm not sure if they are at risk of being thrown out of the Conference if they don't get it upgraded.

That might be another reason why the AGM cup will be so competitive this season.

I think Ifill will be due an extra game ban having already been sent off once this season. They seem to be setting all kinds of disciplinary records this season - one wonders if any potential buyer will need a sizeable wedge just to pay the inevitable club fine from the FA.

Apart from that main stand (which has a great pillar to size ratio) it just looks like a collection of tin roofs.

That's quite out of date. One end has been razed to the ground, and the side terrace is also being updated. The end behind the other goal was also partially cordoned off when I went there a month or so back - so it was effectively a one and a half sided ground, for which they charged £15 to watch a Trophy game (I only paid a tenner at Cambridge for a Trophy game earlier this week). The turnstile at Braintree was operated manually by the operator - i.e. you walked through an open gap, and then the operator moved the free swinging piece of rusty metal to record your admission.

One of the best posts that I've read on Ploppynet for some time and the reality of the move and potential at Nene Park is finally starting to register. ;)

"And there we have it - it comes down to faith: You either believe that NP can bring in the revenue needed to continue the survival of the club or you don't. There is no future without a sugar Daddy unless the ground is made to pay.

And so I ask this - how is this going to happen if Max Griggs with a professional team could not make it happen? At the outset of the ground events were run, the residents of Irthlingborough came and spent money in the bars...but it didn't pan out - the demand was never there in sufficient numbers for a sufficient period of time.

The ground is poorly located, the facilities are run down - there is no viable business here beyond renting out the boxes. Irthlingborough is not a tourist destination, it's not a centre of business and it's not based on a major trading route.

You can throw good money after bad if you want but you are doing it because your emotions are dictating what your heads should be telling you is a fools errand.

8-900 supporters are all that are left now that Ladak has pissed everyone else off - and of those substantially less have money to throw at a dead club walking, or the desire to do so.

If the club was in fan ownership this whole thing would be different - even with the ground issue people would still flock to the cause if it was our club we were saving...but it isn't. It's Ladak's club or it will be Rolls' club or some other person with no loyalty or respect for the history or the future.

While there have been those of us saying the same thing over and over and over, eventually others have sussed onto the whole problem that this is a process to save a dead club for someone else to (hopefully for them) recoup some money from a sale. Even the flip-floppers join in with the angst once in a while (before going back to their insulting and hypocritical stand points).

KTFC has to be a fans-owned club or it has to be reborn back in K*ttering - there is no other future.""

Formic, you're right about Braintree. They were told at the beginning of the season that it needed improving or they'd be thrown out this summer. I can't remember exactly what needed doing, I'll do a bit of rummaging on Google later and try and find out.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

From what I have told by a Corby director I understand promoted clubs have 12 months to bring a ground up to standard. I should imagine that Braintree need to increase the numbers of seats as a priority and then provide segregation for away supporters with seperate toilets and snack facilities.

The Braintree view of yesterday's game is quite different - and they aren't too complementary about the K*ttering fans either - http://braintreeforum.proboards.com/ind ... hread=3934

e.g.

"Yes, it wasn't a good day for K*ttering. A team that once graced this division but, through their own negligence, have become an embarrassment to it. Two sent off and barely fifty drunken abusive supporters. I doubt the division will miss them.

"Braintree's a sh1thole …", they sang - hmmm. We must not forget that they occupy (presumably until evicted by the landlord for non payment of rent) another club's fine stadium, while ours belongs to us and we are, of course debt free.

"We each run our clubs our own way, but I'd be embarrassed if I was associated with the K*ttering club today. I'm told their chairman decided not to turn up because he feared for his own safety and they appear to be looking forward to the arrival of Saint George Rolls as their saviour.

"As Cambridge United and Weymouth have in turn, they'll learn. Despite a request from the referee, they couldn't change their kit because, I heard, they didn't have a second one - oh dear!

"Tuesday sees them back in front of the Conference when they will have to convince 'the powers that be' that they've paid all their football creditors in full or lose three points. Good luck to them, I think they'll need it.

Goodbye K*ttering. "

Oh the irony of Ploppies fans moaning about Braintree's ground, saying it shouldn't be allowed in the league and its a 'horrible place to watch football from', have they already forgotten about the sh!thole they used to play at, I remember not even being able to see Tommo score that goal in the 3-0 victory a few years ago, their 'terrace' was so bad

Same! At first I chastised Farrell for a bad pass to no one because I couldn't actually see Tommo running ahead and then as when he was shaping up to shoot I had to guess whether he'd scored or not before it became obvious. :D
