Here here Jon. I'm really proud of our club and its supporters and want to remain that way.

Coming back to a point I made about the programme earlier in the thread, I've just sat with a Sunday morning cuppa and read if cover to cover - what an awesome publication !! Yesterday's must be the best programme we have produced and hats off to the team doing that. It wouldn't look out of place in the BSP !!

Its full of colour and Mal's photos are just terrific, the montage in the centre pages perfectly captured the excitement of the club's first game against Thrapston, the match reports are crisp and complemented by Mal's action photos - if there is a competition for best programme at this level we must be in with a chance of winning it, yesterday's was top notch !!

We've been lucky with the weather at both our home games (the sun shines on the righteous so I'm told ;) ), but it'll be interesting to see how many turn up on a cold December evening eh? I'd predicted about 600 for yesterdays game, so I wasn't far off, but lets try and beat 550 on Tuesday eh? ;o)

Two home games in and I think we're starting to get our matchday operation running smoothly, but we could always do with more help to spread the load.

For example, if you can spare 10 minutes at half time to empty the bins of rubbish and bag it up that'll help greatly. If you can get down early to marshall the car parking, great !! Turnstile operators are needed, we'll make sure you get away in time to see kick off. 15 minutes to step into the burger bar at half time and help Haydn by taking orders - fantastic !! Can you hang around after the game and mop out the changing rooms (takes about 20 minutes to do if you work in pairs)? There are loads of other little jobs which at the moment are being carried out by the same people every week, it'd be great to spread the load a bit. I've had people say to me "I'd love to help but I don't have the time", well matchdays are when we need help the most.

I thought after 5 minutes we'd win 7-0, after 55 I wondered if we'd be lucky to get away with a draw, bur in the end the result was a fair one and didn't flatter us on balance of play and chances created.

For anyone enjoying their first game I can't season any reason why they wouldn't come back.

The two chaps at the end of the drive were smiling at chatting away, we whipped through the turnstiles quickly with Big Daddy Chas there overseeing it all, lots of smiling faces selling the programmes and draw tickets and then a good and amusing crowd. And that's before the football started.

To cover what Jim and Bob have said, we need more people, if we can get twenty people for every job then you'll only have to do it once a season, and really none of our jobs are onerous and in a lot of them you can still sneak a peak at the game.

There's 12 of us on the board, yesterday you could have spoken to any one of us (except Ralph who's on a well deserved holiday) about anything, we were all in different parts of the ground so you wouldn't have had to walk far.

I've refrained from this thread, but I will say this:

I, my wife, and my mum had a great day yesterday. Drink in clubhouse with friends before the game, sun shining, great atmosphere on our superb terrace, speakers working great, programme was phenomenal, a great performance and a 4-1 win.

The bottle thrower was a muppet who was reprimanded by one fan, and we around him should have perhaps done more. The Fakenham fan got some good natured stick and that was it.

Overall, another wonderful day that would not be possible were it not for the heroic efforts of the volunteers as a whole.

I'm proud of my club. And come rain or shine, I'll be there (or following on twitter), swearing at football ;)

Nice to hear! I was going to ask about that - if people thought the volume in the Terrace was ok - they're at 10W currently (can go up to 40W). They're not ideal how they are mounted at present, but that was the best way to do it for now. I did walk around before the game, and thought it was pretty good even at the far end of the Peter Ebdon stand, just fading a bit toward the far corner.

We have a few more speakers to put up as Dunc mentioned. 2 for the Peter Ebdon stand, and also an indoor unit for the Main Bar (once I fix the wiring on that), so you get the Tannoy announcements inside too, as that's also missing at present.

The main tannoy speakers we got are also slightly better for Music than the main horn speakers on the club house, so that music sounded better in the Terrace.

Also we are looking at a rear facing one pointing at the gate area, so those that arrive around 2:50pm and are queuing can hear the Team announcements ;-)

We may also look at a new Amp to make it a bit easier to use with a mixer, as the current one doesn't have all the right inputs. Maybe up the power if we get another one.

I must say, theres some strong opinions on this subject but I think its good that we can hold a healthy debate about it.

Im generalising here, but ultimately we have "Debankers" and "North Standers" mixing for the first time. Both have been supporting the same club, been going to the same ground, meeting up with the same friends for many many years. However, both would've had completely different match day experiences.

We've got great fans, all of us, and we all want whats best for the club. But we've all also got very different opinions and the last thing anyone wants to see is a division between our own supporters as a result of this.

One thing that I know we all agree on is how proud we are of our volunteers, we really are, even if sometimes we dont always show it.

I'd been given the role as 'Youth fans representative' and to be perfectly honest, I haven't really done as much as I should've to help the club. I can speak to the chairmen every friday night on the phone before the game, explaining how I will help to channel the 'lads' enthusiasm in the right way and ensure him there wont be any repeats of inappropraite behaviour. But what I cant forsee is incidents like that moron giving it the 'Adebayor' in front of our supporters.

As I was waiting for my chips yesterday, I had the 'pleasure' of that ghost fan, attempting to have a conversaion with me. He was an exceptionally strange human being, so fortunately we wont have to deal with many people like him. When I asked him why he was acting a dick his answer was "i forgot how big your club was, we're not use to these sort of crowds" We're going to get this EVERY week.

What should've happend is the somebody should have warned the Fakenham fan to either stop goading, move, or leave the ground.

I'll ask Ralph for a proper meeting regarding all this business when he gets back off his holiday, else we're going to be talking about these sort of things everyweek, when all we should be talking about is how many fans we're gunna take to wembley ;)
