They've only made a payment on account to HMRC today so there's still money outstanding to HMRC and more once the players wages (paye and ni) get paid plus additional VAT from their last few home matches and the next two matches at home.

At least their trust have paid Southend Manor - fair play to them for doing the right thing when it wasn't their responsibility.

NP only exists in my memories now. I don't care if it is torn down.

Just read through their twitter feed thread on their site. It's like deja vu all over again, as Del Boy said... it's uncanny... Northamptonshire football's Dog Day Afternoon!

About time K*ttering Town changed their motto...

how about SEMPER IN EXCRETA, SED SOLUM PROFONDIS VARIAT

which means, "Always in the shit, it's just the depth that varies"?

They used the money that Wrexham collected for them last Saturday.

The covenant is not due to run out, it will be more the case whether KC can convince the authorities it should be lifted if the stadium remains unoccupied in line with the Scarborough FC precedent.

Just read through the twitter feed. A lot of that feels like de ja vous to me. I admire them for trying to help their club - especially with ST holders supposedly willing to pay on the gate - but I won't be holding my breath on their survival unless a financial backer comes in.

I won't hold my breath on that either.

I wouldn't want to go back there, but I would be sad to see NP torn down. A part of me is left there and even if it means nothing to you, it's still a waste of an awesome stadium.

Quotes from Ploppynet:-

"A case of fur coat and no knickers. A nice ground for sure, but it's getting older, and unless the landlord keeps up the maintenance, we'll never be able to. "

"I was surprised regarding the boiler fiasco. We seem to have inherited a good looking yet ultimately under maintainted stadium from that defunct club that used to inhabit the ground."

There were plenty of people connected with Diamonds who could have told them that if they had bothered to ask, Rachel Roberts for example. No, they were tripping over us in their haste to occupy Nene Park within days of RDFC getting booted out of the Conference. The state of the dirty exterior cladding could have told them something. It was an expensive place to build, with quality materials which needs a lot of money to maintain which wasn't available to us after April 2005. We could all see it was looking shabby, leaking urinals in the toilets near Strikers Bar for years for example. Do you recall some of the comments made by Stevenage fans two years ago? KC obviously had the whip hand when agreeing the terms of the lease with Ladick and the complex will continue to be a financial millstone around their necks until the day they either go out of business or leave the facility to play elsewhere. Caveat Emptor!
