Even by the Poppynet standard, their most recent thread "just wondering what Cousins would think" is naïve in the extreme. Apart from a debate on hosting Rugby games at Nene Park despite the fact the pitch would be far too small, it includes the classic comment "Sureky (sic) the demise of KTFC is as big a problem to KC as to the rest of us?" and "Why is KC notbfighting our corner?".

The lack of response attempting to put the original poster straight suggests few, if any, Poppies fans have looked into the history of what is now their home.

I think that the question of what KC is currently thinking has been fully answered by another very well connected poster later in that same thread and suggesting that - financially at least - KTFC might find it even more difficult - and expensive - to move away from NP.

Of course we do not know the terms of the lease and any break clauses but i assume at least 12 months notice would be required to leave Nene Park.

Now of course if they go into Admin and fail to pay rent then KC will be forced to evict Kettrin so maybe thats why nobody is stepping up to the plate to save them whilst tied into a lease nobody now wants.

The part about Rugby may have some legs but not Union but League, the new Northampton League team may like a new training base of their own and the A45 is nice and close for quick links into Northampton.

All conjecture of course

As has been pointed out 'in another place' - to use a parliamentary term - the payment of rent for the continued use of NP does not seem to be an issue since it is being suggested that rent has been paid in advance and for a considerable period into the future.
Presumably this was insisted upon by KC from the outset as a means of ensuring that he got his money.

So he paid up to the end of the Season, i wonder what the increments are on the rent every year, inflation or inflation plus a further percentage thats of course if any new owners are willing to stay at Nene Park or as i said do they want the club to go under so the lease is cancelled.

If that's true I can't see how it could have worked given the original season ticket offer probably meant that a sale of 750 tickets would raise that sort of revenue (given the possible average price of £150 if the free u16 tickets are taken into account).

That would then leave very little from the "on the day" revenues - especially with the £10 pricing - to pay the players / staff / bills. No wonder Maison said they needed gates of 2500 plus.

It might explain why the original offer was so generous though, in order to get the money to pay the rent up-front.

It reminds me so much of when the Beasants arrived and had to find rent on the stadium for the first time given the financial numbers already didn't add up.

I think you will find that rent was pre-paid for a considerably longer period than 9 month
