Re: 5th May - Hillier Cup Final
Certainly no fluke result. We were always dangerous on the break in the second half. Richards had probably his best game for the club. Credit should be given to Manship and Hipwell who came into the side and both put in highly creditable performances. Quigley was outstanding, but Jacko was phenomenal. How appropriate that he scored the winning goal!.
After the St Ives game everybody was a bit down, but now we finish on a high and we can look forward to next season.

What a game!
Each and every one of those lads worked their socks off, and deserved that result 100%
Although I did think K*ttering passed the ball well.
Nick Price tweeted that K*ttering had more fans at the game. But I think they need to do a recount, as they struggled to fill half of what they were allocated. Whilst we pretty much filled our stand.

That split of the crowd can't be right. Look at the photos of the North Stand which is 1000 capacity and NFA say it was less than half full.diamondgeezer1 wrote: Nick Price tweeted that K*ttering had more fans at the game. Well nothing was going to make up for Monday for me, but that was a pretty damn good consolation at the end of the season, I wasn't too bothered prior to the game, but a few chants from those to our right soon changed that and it was a great atmosphere I thought. What a f***ing awesome header and winner from Jacko Ashton, it was an almost perfect winner imo, an absolutely brilliant way to end the season with another memorable moment and beat our old rivals to a bit of silverware. I thought the difference in leagues showed at times and we didn't create loads of chances, but we stood up strong and battled away and got our rewards at the end of the night by taking our chances, which they certainly didn't, well done lads

And yeah, I know looks can be deceiving and perhaps it was quite hard to tell from my position, but I was surprised to see that they supposedly had 200 more than us there, while we supposedly didn't even fill half the 1000 capacity stand

Which would suggest there were 737 ploppies supporters there, which I find hard to believeFormic wrote:The original numbers were amended to read 1322 with 585 Diamonds.

Those people who made a donation to help Jack Ashton get back to full fitness have certainly had their monies worth. It seems he picked up a broken toe early in the game too.

Loving Jacko's tweets after the game too, a true Diamond, out of all our current team, I really hope he is the one to stay here the longest, his general attitude is all round fantastic and he's a top defender at this level, and future captain imo

Considering apparently there's no rivalry, some of their fans on twitter are getting very touchy!!
