Re: Former Players
Went to watch Peterborough Sports V Wisbech Town tonight in the UCL Premier. Luke Hipwell played excellently for Wisbech and they were unlucky to lose 1-0.
On paper Peterborough Sports probably have a better squad than we do with recent step 2/3/4 players all over the park.

Apart from money being the obvious answer, why the hell do players from that level want to play in the UCL infront of 10 men and a dog?BartonRaz wrote: On paper Peterborough Sports probably have a better squad than we do with recent step 2/3/4 players all over the park.
Is there some kind of "project" going on over there?

I don't know so, but you have to assume so. Their Chairman describes himself in his Twitter bio as having numerous business ventures.Dowlo wrote:Apart from money being the obvious answer, why the hell do players from that level want to play in the UCL infront of 10 men and a dog?BartonRaz wrote: On paper Peterborough Sports probably have a better squad than we do with recent step 2/3/4 players all over the park.

One of their players received a booking (and subsequent fine) in the second half, at which point Hipwell shouted "don't worry, you've only got £150 left".
Their front 3 of Mark Jones, Josh Moreman and Avelino Vieira all have recent Step 2 experience and are all on double figures already this season. Vieira turned down an approach from St Neots last week. Jones has 18 in 14 games according to the stats page in their programme.

A number of ex-Diamonds playing there - Jason Lee, ELJ, Aaron Parkinson and Adam Confue. Lewis Leslie's brother also playing there.Formic wrote:Jason Lee is playing for Daventry Town tonight.

Re: Former Players
Only other thing I can think of is that travelling to away games is not such as great as distance as playing in the evo stik. Some may also find it hard to finish work early on say a Tuesday for a couple of hours trip for a gameDowlo wrote:Apart from money being the obvious answer, why the hell do players from that level want to play in the UCL infront of 10 men and a dog?BartonRaz wrote: On paper Peterborough Sports probably have a better squad than we do with recent step 2/3/4 players all over the park.

Re: Former Players
Jason Lee now back with us, good news given the injury list though hope this isn't indication of the possibility of Bully being out for a while.ParcelFace wrote:A number of ex-Diamonds playing there - Jason Lee, ELJ, Aaron Parkinson and Adam Confue. Re: Former Players
Jason Lee is more of a central defender where he has been playing for Rugby Town this season. We could have a defence of mainly left footed defenders if Dolman isn't fit on Saturday.
