If we get through this, the club and the facilities need to be marketed better, I'm sure we could exploit the facilities better than we do. Although I could be wrong?

I'm probably being completely naive and over the top optimistic but I believe our future is definately at Nene Park.

Very few clubs inb this country have the land and facilites to generate non-match day income, we do, we have just never done it. I know the football club and land are now separate, but there MUST be something we can do with a piece of land or building at NP that we can transform into an absolute money maker, that will sustain the club AND make a profit. A masterplan. Something in retail, leiure etc. Like a hotel idea but something that is required by the public more. Some huge company.. get a McDonalds down there.. Irthlingborough, Higham and Finedon people will use it, people passing by will aswel.

Maybe Im clutching at straws but Im sure there something to be done!

We dont need three training pitches get rid of one turn it into a money maker!

Why the hell are we paying to use the sport and exhibition centre when its costing us 50k a year?? Thats two players wages!! Get changed in the stadium!

I've just gone onto the MK site and found literally 10 minutes ago the job was done for me. This guy who left us in the glory days to support MK has posted a nice piece to be fair. Back to revision for me, but Ill do another hour of publicising later on facebook/forums.

Agree totally. The sport centre issue makes absolutely no sense, it left me wondering why it was sold by Griggs in the first place? It appears we have essentially been paying 50k a year so that the players don't have to walk for 2 minutes to get to the training pitches unless i have totally misunderstood what was said.

The A6 training pitch is probably not worth a great deal given that a light drizzle and there is a risk of flooding, but we should definitely look at selling one of the other pitches. Like you, i am probably being a bit naive here because it seems too obvious.

I agree if we could exploit what we've got then maybe we'd have a future but as TTT says it would have to be a masterplan and be successful, a deal with a big company could be. Not to say we haven't tried things in the past, we had that nightclub a few years ago didn't we? Didn't last long though iirc.

I'd say the coffee shop idea had potential but we obviously need the money to set that up first, was it mentioned at all at the forum?

There is also a gym in the S&E centre which is obviously used a lot, and an open canteen that is used by the players (I'm sure Seasons Bistro could be used instead, but it's not as convenient). Don't forgot that we also make around £20k from the various clubs that use the S&E centre.

I agree though, even £30k is still an awful lot for facilities that could be found elsewhere and cheaper.

do we not have facilities to 'do' a coffee shop already, i.e strikers??? or even one of the hospitality suites?

It always takes time for a new 'business' to become establised, so opening up strikers in the week for coffee's and lunches might not immediately make any money, but give it some time, and let word spread that the food is good and the prices are competetive and people will come back, and introduce new customers.

Beer festivals over the summer months are a good way to get people down, as long as there is enough beer, and plenty of variety, add on to this a bbq, and something for the kids to do as well an people will spend (well I would)
