Hopefully Jenson is back & starts. We cannot start the same 11 that have lost the previous 3 games IMO. Nothing to lose by changing it up. Jenson up front. Tee playing off him. Tyrecce /Connor on wings (interchanging) Morgan brought into midfield. Davis at right back.

Almost my thoughts. With the Cobblers duo not available on monday it makes sense to bring in Sutherland and Cooper now. Morgan to replace Jesse. Not so sure about Davis if Lashley is now fit.Ricky330 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 8:16 pm Hopefully Jenson is back & starts. We cannot start the same 11 that have lost the previous 3 games IMO. Decent effort was that, thought we played the best of the season so far and matched a team who on paper we wouldn’t even be able to compete with. Yes they had some chances but the big moments yet again go against us. Hitting the bar at 1-0 was huge. Ref was poor for both sides.

Yep a slight improvement on Hitchin but once again a lot of huff and puff and many mishit passes. It says it all when Snedker is MOM - again helping us to a point our effort deserved even though they could have been out of sight after first ten minutes as they continually sliced open our defence.
Our goal - superbly taken by the excellent Connor Tee - was a little against the run of play while the Lincoln lad looked good and must start on BHM. The referee, to say the least, had an 'indifferent' game and certainly didn't endear himself to either side. However, I'm going to be unpopular but the late pen appeal when Tee went down was, in my opinion, the correct call.
A good game to watch now can we build further on that come BHM?

Some positive signs, a change in formation clearly worked. I haven’t been to any of the away games, so can’t comment on the performances in those, but today was the teams best performance I’ve seen, but still work to do. They really couldn’t deal with Conor Furlong, and he deserved a goal.
Bit of a bold statement from Burge saying we’ll be a tough team for anyone to face the more the players get to know each other.

Gutted for burge/Chris and lads. Absolutely no luck at moment in terms of ref decisions & things falling for us!!!
Guy in the middle today was absolutely awful, says it all when he's explaining his poor decisions to both management teams & about 6 players afterwards!!! The same ref killed us at Banbury if I remember rightly.
Foul on Connor Tee was a stonewall pen imo & even hicksy going through at the end the player was pulling his shirt back. Connor Tee MOM for me today, sneds made a great save 2nd half but the 2 1st half I'd expect most keepers to safe.
We're not miles away, like most have mentioned & I've absolutely no doubt burge will be giving his all to find a number 9 that suits our paying structure but as we know they don't come cheap!
Keep the faith & let's keep backing this young group.

Despite the fact that it’s another game without a win, I was very encouraged with what I saw. It’s nice to see a young, hungry Diamonds team trying to play the right way with pass and move football. We never resorted to the long ball and always tried to put it on the deck. I will always get behind that. The 3G pitch at St. Ives should really suit our playing style.
What a cracking little player Conor Tee is, a really super acquisition. It was an assured and controlled finish for his goal, great composure from the lad. Absolutely delighted with his signature, he’s a real focal point to build the team around. Dean Snedker once again produced the goods when called upon of course. Pleased to see Jenson Cooper come back into the fray as well.
We certainly do need to keep supporting and getting behind these players. They are going to make mistakes and show inexperience at times, that’s part of their learning process. If we stick by them I believe we will definitely come good this season, it’s just going to take a bit of time that’s all. Onto Monday!
