Josh Going as well, 15.

FBT apparently back mid September so can assume he won't play til October if he does re-sign. Hopefully there are one or two loan deals in the pipeline (someone from that Luton XI would be nice!) as well, but certainly extras needed. If it was me I'd take a few players from Daventry or Corby just to fill out the squad, think we'd all take Tom Lorraine back in a heartbeat right now!
I heard a rumour don’t know how true this is that Tom asked to come back to do a week’s training before Daventry started but was told by a board member no we only wnat committed players to diamonds,so think Tom every player for club again would be a massive no from him especially how rude the board member was & no way to treat a club legend
At the risk of sounding like a friend of the board according to someone who’s posted on this thread, the “we only want committed players” could have easily been misconstrued. But yeah, the situation should have been handled a lot better, would love to see Tom back, but seems unlikely after one stupid comment.

Look im just going off whats been said in this forum, I trust it. Very dissapointed we are treating record goalscorer like this, bad form from the board, which I may address in a written letter to them, perhaps you could hand it to them when you have your next tea party

I
Having spoken to Tom, I didn't get the impression that he misconstrued anything and I agree that this is not the way to treat a club legend. Even if the message was in any way misconstrued then again it shows up precisely what I've been saying for some time. Communication and PR are very poor within the club. We desperately need a communication committee set up to liaise with the fans. Maybe communication could be top of the new Chair's agenda when he or she is appointed.

As members we should be able to hold the board accountable for these sorts of actions, this isn't acceptable

Anyone know what is the latest on the Chair situation?

At the AGM, I thought they said that there was another meeting last Wednesday and that the decision should come soon after that. Apparently, there are two candidates left - one internal and one external. The club have done well to keep the identities secret. However, the same internal name keeps cropping up and if those whispers are correct then we must hope that the external candidate - who apparently I was unwittingly sitting next to at the AGM - gets the nod!

I did think that this was a wind-up at first but seemingly not.

Completely get that people may be unhappy about this but worth remembering that a.) Burge probably doesn't know Tom Lorraine from Adam, and b.) It's his perogative to decide who he does / doesn't have at training and if he doesn't want someone there to make up numbers that has no intention of signing then that doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I would also imagine the board wouldn't force it on Burge so not sure you can hold them accountable in this instance unless there was an issue with the deliverance of it.

The amount of Peaks-era hangers-on both on here and on social media that seem to want the club to fail now that he's gone is very sad.

Pressman - How come at the AGM you didn’t bring up the many issues you have with club and how it is run recently?

Surely the very forum you could have voiced your opinion was indeed the AGM and the fans forum straight afterwards but instead you use this unofficial forum to voice your opinion?

That seems very odd and vindictive, I haven’t been the most supportive of the board in the past but used the AGM to ask the questions I wanted answers too.
