Fernando did nothing, again, but he started
Slinn isn't and wasn't good enough again, but he started

Left back drafted in at centre back and centre back at right back. 5 strikers featured today and 4 of them played on the wings.

2-0 down and awarded the softest penalty we'll ever get. We needed someone to stand up and smash it through the back of the net, but that instruction never came.

Peaks well out of his depth here and we'll go down in this form.

The new midfielders we have signed have yet to make an impact or appearance. Furlong and Dommett and Dias. I think we may also have another one on his way. I almost feel today was a makeshift team with monday in mind to bring in Dias, Smith, Jones and Williams.

I almost feel today was a makeshift team with monday in mind to bring in Dias, Smith, Jones and Williams.

Makes zero sense to prioritise a game you'll almost certainly lose regardless of the XI, over one you've got a decent chance of winning.

Except you don't give yourself much chance of winning anything managing the game as badly as that from the sidelines. Changes were required at half-time as it was quite clear things weren't working at that point, but none were forthcoming. By the time meaningful changes were made, it was too late. Lorraine again isolated, even more so than last weekend, I lost count of the amount of times he flicked it on to nobody. Diamond totally wasted out wide and disinterested probably as a result. One of the worst individual displays you will ever see in central midfield, an area of the pitch which generally looks like a mess as expected before the season even started. Williams should have started, 1 training session or not.

Really I could go on but should probably draw a line under it there. Just watched the post-match interviews and the guys that matter don't seem to think it was a poor display which is concerning.

I said after the Coalville game that the result papered over the cracks. It did not help losing Garwood but our problem both last season and so far this is that our midfield is too lightweight. Akubine, FBT and Slinn may be technically good but you need some bite and we lack that. We have a plethora of midfield players currently but they are not playing, Dias, Tshikuna, Dommett(?) Furlong and Williams. Diamond has been a massive disappointment. When both fit Smith and Jones will score goals provided they get the serbvice. We knew the first month was going to be hard even without playing Coalville twice and I reckoned on 4 points from 4 games (that means we have to be first team to take points of PS). The good news is we have Nuneaton and Needham coming up soon followed by Hitchin and Royston at home fter those games we will have a better idea of how our season might pan out.

Watching the interviews it feels like we were watching a different game! Yes on paper a 2-1 defeat when we hit the bar and missed a penalty looks a close game and ‘fine margins’ went their way but we were completely outplayed!!
As others has said midfield were non existent or not good enough when managed to get in the game, defence looked shaky at best.
Joel looked lively and subs looked good when they eventually came on but still so little attacking threat
Early days but was a tough watch yesterday

AP is a manager under pressure and struggling with problems, watch the constant chin stroking. I saw this in a previous interview. Looks to me that he needs some help as this indecision will rub off on the players. I'm concerned he's saying that he doesn't have time to work on a system in training.
