Re: TONIGHT! [ WEDNESDAY 19th Jul ] v Northampton Town 1st Team, KO 19:45 PSF HOME
Great result, I enjoyed that game!
Gyasi incorrectly credited with our first goal though (at least by the announcer, twitter was correct) was Farrell who scored our first.
Easy mistake though as they had each other's numbers on the team sheet!
Play like that this season and we'll be a tough side to beat.

Great result. Great crowd no doubt boosted by many Cobblers fans. How did they all fit in to our restricted spaces.???

Fantastic result, I see clobbers fans fickle as ever are blaming 2 games in 2 days (yet no player played 180 minutes) are forgetting that our players have all done a days work before the game!!

A bit ironic, at the start of their thread it was good news 2 games in 2 days as they have a very large squad, and needed them all getting game time, by the end it's the reason they lost, poor little treasures had 6 hours of travelling the day before, our lot had an 8 hour + day at work prior to yesterday. Though to be fair to the Wobblers the only detailed summery of last night did state we beat them due to one simple reason, we were better than them. Will some of those they had on display last night actually be getting paid to play full time football over the coming season, just hope our restricted budget is enough to keep the team together that beat a League side with such ease. All in all a very good team performance and a good evenings entertainment in front of the sort of crowd we can hopefully see on a regular basis.sandringhamdiamond wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2017 10:53 pm Fantastic result, I see clobbers fans fickle as ever are blaming 2 games in 2 days (yet no player played 180 minutes) are forgetting that our players have all done a days work before the game!!

Another plus regarding Hayden Road.......the PA system sounds great, almost drowning out JE interview.

Well done to those behind the scenes who've worked hard on the ground, enabling us to cope with a crowd of that size, plus guys like Haydn who i'm sure were kept very busy last night.
It was an excellent display and it was clear that our guys thrived on testing themselves against professional opposition. I was really impressed with the way Gyasi, Dillon and Shariff linked up. To be honest we deservedly won the game.
Thanks also to the Cobblers for sending a first team to play us, giving us a much needed financial boost at a time when we really need it. Hopefully our performance against them (and the immaculate state of the pitch) will ensure that they come back again next year and consider loaning young players to us should we need them.

It's not that audible when they're making announcements though. I would imagine it's an area they're planning improvements.sussexdiamond wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2017 8:07 am Another plus regarding Hayden Road.......the PA system sounds great, almost drowning out JE interview.
Pitch is fantastic, heard many a cobblers fan praise it too.

Now if we could just add another centre-half and I'd be happy with the squad we've got at the moment.

I'd consider Paul Malone. Only played for Corby the other evening to get his fitness back and isn't committed to them.UttoDiamond wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2017 10:04 am Now if we could just add another centre-half and I'd be happy with the squad we've got at the moment.

Not much else to say about the game that hasn't been said already, except that I can't believe no one has singled out Ben Farrell yet; I though he was magnificent last night, completely bossed the midfield, and his goal was superbly taken.
