So so disappointing. Don't get me wrong Spalding are a good team which is understandable given how much they pay their players but we have just handed them that win on a plate. They didn't even have to do much to win it. At about 60 minutes when we had the goal disallowed I thought we had played well, controlled the game and now had a man advantage. Then someone flicked a switch and we just stopped, it was unbelievable. Nothing, poor decisions, couldn't hold the ball. Very disappointing. The problem is our strike force is average, fazel is poor, Tom is not good enough against the better teams and nabil is a shadow of himself. We need a decent striker. We don't score many, one or two if we are lucky so if the opposition get 2 we will probably not be winning the game.

Thought the lads were excellent up until the penalty. After that we capitulated a little bit, not helped by a totally incompetent referee. I don't think any keeper in the world would have saved that free-kick but whether it was a free-kick in the first place looked debatable from where I was stood. Thought Ford was excellent again, Lorraine worked hard and a few others didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

What disappointed me was that we allowed Spalding to see the game out comfortably with 10 men. That should never be the case. We should have been throwing the kitchen sink at them because whether we lost 2-1 or 5-1 was immaterial.

To be totally honest, man for man, Spalding are better than us in my opinion so the loss is no great surprise. Their starting XI is so strong and they don't have any real weaknesses. Our team was patched up. We've probably got 1 or 2 that aren't at the same level as the rest (been like that all season) and 1 other that's horribly out of form and has been for some time now.

First half was as good as we've played all season home or away, the only thing missing was a goal for our dominance.

The penalty was a definite turning point in not only did they score but the lads seemed to lose their heads a bit, we stopped using the ball and Spalding started to get on top. The winning goal was a great strike by a very decent player, wether it was a free kick or not is very debatable however.

Spalding are a very physical side and when refereed as badly as tonight will take advantage. I would say that rather than being better than us I would put them down as more savvy.

Though Ben Ford had another good game especially out of position and overall not a bad performance but we severely lack creativity in the kind of situations we found ourselves in today. Although i think the 4-3-3 works brilliantly away I would like to see us play 4-4-2 at home as Nabil and Tom are both better with a strike partner alongside them.

Just didnt get the ball down 2nd half and certainly didnt stretch them enough wen they went down to 10 men! To be honest thought we should of had a pen just before they did...... ref absolutely rubbish again!!!! Thought free kick was an absolute worldie at first,HOWEVER seeing the goal on twitter i reckon finners could/should of got thier! Only my opinion tho! Upto now we've done awesome considering our strike force, none of them are clinical enough or a real handful but i guess you have to pay top dollar for a quality striker! Nabs has deffo gone off the boil and just dont look that interested imo. However lets keep the faith and get behind peaksy & the boys..

Funny old game, we have been a shadow of last nights 1st half performance in previous games and got 3 points, but then not many teams work like Spending Utd and to be honest and fair to them they are a decent side with some very good players, makes you wonder sometimes why they play the direct route football based on getting corners, free kicks and throws, but I guess a glance at the league table justifies it to them. We just don't turn good football and possession into the end result enough, if we had been 2 up at half time I doubt they would have complained, I know a sending off often changes a game but how it changed last night was unreal, instead of us spreading the game and pushing onto them we ended up getting bossed and bullied by 10 men with a fair % of our team going AWOL. Couldn't see the pen but given Bully didn't argue I can only assume it was one, and it was a little ironic their 2nd goal came about a minute after they should have gone down to 9, the were 3/4 very heavy challenges last night that another official may have handled differently, not that our defeat was solely down to an incompetent referee though in his defence he did play his part.

No doubting Spalding were the better side last night, I just didn't like the way they went about getting the win.

Debatable penalty, and free kick in my opinion, they conned the ref all night and he fell for it!

The problem with the strikers is, against the better sides they don't get the service, as was proven last night.

A very frank and honest assessment of the game from Bully and Peaksy on the highlights. Shame about missing the penalty incident.

The problem seems to be, we stop doing what gets us into a strong position, 1-0 up against 10 men, then we just do the exact opposite. It also gets me mad when teams beat us by creating very few chances, they only had 3 or 4 clear cut shots and that includes the penalty and the free kick. We need to be more direct, but, we are still in there.
