2 0 Diamonds..Taylor Orosz again on 16. Real purpose about Diamonds play from back to front. Crisp passing and great finishing...

Great score at half time, just a pity they couldn't have done this on Saturday. Least a few goals may give the side a confidence boost

Now 6-0 Shariff and Lorraine and Newman

Tom Lorraine now second in Diamonds goalscoring lists , moves ahead of Gearing only behind Alfie.

Credit where it's due the lads were outstanding tonight. The nature of the game (it was ridiculously one-sided as the scoreline suggets) makes you wonder how we couldn't get the job done on Saturday.

Orosz and Lorraine the pick of the bunch. The former looked really dangerous cutting in from the right wing and Lorriane probably had his best game in 12 months!

We must push on from here, the result and performance should give everyone a much needed shot in the arm.

Great result and nice to see that we scored 3 second half goals after failing to score in the second period period in the previous five games which was giving me cause for concern. Attendance was a lowly 151 but no surprise given Histon's drop off in results.

Let's hope we can translate this performance to forthcoming league games.

Apologies I didn't keep the updates going second half....it did indeed finish 6-1! Get in....

I was running low on power on my phone and saving it for the twitter feed...i ended the game with 4% and fortunately knew the way home and didn't need my google maps. Schoolboy error not having remote charger with me!!

It was good stuff all round, particularly important the quality of the finishing. Taylor Orosz hitting the target so well with his first two chances early was so important and won us the game. Not nailed on open goals by any means, but the type of good half chances we haven't been converting lately. Tom Lorraine's to make it 3-0 was just as good, as was Jake's to make it 6.

You have to see Nabil's super chilled lob for the 4th and his brilliant header that produced the 5th for Tom who pounced well on the rebound.

It's fair to say we defended pretty solidly too and passed it well from the back. I thought McNulty in centre midfield was excellent, always showing for the ball and using it well. Both full-backs were composed and passed well and it makes such a difference to the way we played.

Really enjoyed it....massive shot in the arm all round,,,bring on Sheffield!!

If you lose 6-1 and your goalkeeper is man of the match that tells it's own story really. He may as well have been playing on his own for large parts of the game as the 11 men in front of him were utterly useless. The 1 goal does put a minor dampner on the scoreline but I suppose their supporters needed something to cheer.
I didn't see them play on Saturday but if it was anything like the team I watched last night I can't believe it took a replay to get through this round.

Anyway I'm glad it did as the fans in attendance were treated to a great display by us. As soon as Taylor Orosz fired in the first after 3 minutes the result was never in doubt. We were dominant all over the pitch and there was some great link up play between the front line of Orosz, Lorraine and Nabil.
The latter never stopped running and holding up the ball and deserved his well taken lobbed goal early in the first half. As mentioned already Lorraine and Orosz looked extremely dangerous too, and had Tom put the ball either side of the keeper when put through 1 on 1 he would have been looking at an excellent hatrick. If Chris Wreh's spinning back heel had gone in too, that would have been the icing on the cake.

This has to be used as motivation going forward, granted the opposition will be a lot harder than last night but it was important we got a convincing win under the belt. With players to come back from injury we must use this kind of result and push on and begin a climb up the table.

As for Histon the Glass World "Stadium" will be the nicest ground in the UCL next season!

Their ground at Bridge Road has been considerably redeveloped since their early Conference days and it's unfortunate that now 95% of the covered seating/terracing won't be used - shades of Nene Park!

If they do get relegated to Step 5 then it's certain that it will be the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League next season where they can renew their rivalry with Godmanchester Rovers, Ely City etc. Traditionally this was always the level that the Stutes operated at before the injection of money from Gareth Baldwin and his merry band 10-12 years ago.

Fond memories of playing there in the mid 60's when all they had was a clubhouse/changing rooms on an open village recreation ground.
