I agree, too many average players. We need about 4 quality players adding to that team tonight to be challenging at the top end. Stop the 4-3-3 formation, its boring and we can't play it. And why can't we defend crosses!

Thought they were well organised and first to nearly every ball. We desperately need some width, missing Hoban IMO.

Did Wreh from pre-season find a club?

Disappointed by the loss obviously, but they were better than us plain and simple. Thought we missed Kennedy & Hoban massively. Was an even first half, but second half it was chasetown all the way.

Could see from the interviews after the game that Nabil & Peaksy were very disappointed.

We have the perfect chance to get back on track on Saturday against Sileby.

Exactly, sometimes in sport you can look for lots of reasons why things didn't go your way but have to end up just admitting the opponents were better and for much of the game Chasetown were, It's not something we have had to do very often over the past 5 years. That said the were some pretty dreadful performances last night which I'm sure will be addressed by Peaksy.

Honest assessment from both Nabil and Peaksy - not good enough by a long way! Bits and pieces looked okay, but not sharp enough and certain players just didn't do enough. We commented on fitness last night, it's not a criticism I level at us normally, but we looked well off the pace and some players were blowing after 30 minutes.

Why did we drop so deep after going 1-0 up? Just invited trouble that did !! And we got it! We need much more width to our play, our midfield just got overrun last night, very ineffective.

No arguments about the result - Chasetown are a decent well drilled side, strong and well organised and were good value for their win.

Got a chance Saturday for a confidence boosting win, but if we don't improve from last night it could be the opposite!

I'll miss the next three games (so an improvement and lots of goals expected) - I hope when I come back to see a vast improvement. I'm certainly not panicking yet, but the first green shoots of concern are showing! If we don't get that confidence building result at the weekend then we could be in for a very long and difficult season!

Exactly as I saw it. What happened to Bunting? Leslie and McNulty were both very poor and ineffective and I can't understand why we've signed the latter. Didn't he play in central defence for Bedford last season? Clearly we're missing Curtis and Oulton as nobody performed the 'Quigley' role. Our attack looked toothless despite Sharrif's effort and Parsons looked extremely lightweight against a strong Chasetown defence. We need a couple of wide midfielders as a matter of urgency.

Sileby won't be a pushover on Saturday but we really need a confidence boosting victory to get our season up and running.

Sileby are going well and had a good win against Cogenhoe yesterday.

By the sound of peoples comments on here, it was more of the same issues from Saturday. A bit of huff and puff but with no real cutting edge but unlike Saturday the opposition grew into the game and in the end finished strongly, running out deserved winners.

Looking at the squad the lack of attacking threat down either wing is quite alarming, and the midfield appears to have lost it's engine (Quigley). I looked last night and neither Bowen or Richards appeared in the squad for Brackley, does anyone know what the situation is there, as from my view point we have lost out on good players to a team that aren't playing them. I can only assume they are injured or out on loan elsewhere?

Not quite sure what Parsons offers you attacking wise either, he looked very lightweight when he came on Saturday and in the odd appearances he made last season.

Not pushing the panic button yet though we are only 2 games in, and perhaps these 2 results are a bit of a wake up call as to where we are as side/club at this current stage. If we lose against Sileby on Saturday though it could be the start of a long tough season.
