I was right next to the dugout and after 35/40 minutes Peaksy said "we should be 2 or 3 up by now" so I think he knows we need better striking options. I thought generally Wilkinson was solid today and I'm not a big fan of him normally. Not sure what Hoban was thinking when he was through on goal and went for power rather than placement though. Ref had a mare. I'm disappointed with the fans though, the joke went too far with their physio and I'm glad one of them got thrown out.

Well I was right next to the away dugout and the physio said he was poked in the eye with a brolly :hmmm:

Seriously if that is true then whoever did it deserved to be thrown out.

Very frustrating. When we have chances in the box nobody seems to be able to put their foot through the ball. One decent chance and they score although they're a good outfit who defended very well and were quick on the break. Not too much damage to our league position as Chalfont were turned over 2-0 by Aylesbury.

I agree with you, I think Peaksy knows we need a striker. Thought we played well, created chances after chances, just failed to convict any of those chances into goals.

At least Chalfont St Peter lost, it's very tight at the top of the table.

Tonight was very similar to Saturday in many respects. We had 5/6 great chances tonight but didn't take any of them, some poor finishing but also unlucky, same as Chalfont. We've played worse and picked up points this season, so I'm not too disappointed. All we need is to improve our consistent and we'll be right up there, as everyone is beating everyone and no team will win this league by 12-15 points! What I am disappointed about is that we never really learnt from Saturday and We were also fairly one dimentional!

We're still 2/3 players short, but to be fair to the management/board, where do you find a 30 goal a season striker, or another Dan Quigley, that are local and within budget? It's difficult.

Bell and Mills anyone??

Although we were guilty of missing chances again I thought that Egham dealt with the rapidly worsening conditions better than us.
Having stepped up a level I think we lack a bit of nouse sometimes - hopefully this will develop over time.

I'd have settled for 2nd in the table at Christmas before the start of the season though without a doubt.

Never wanted to blow for ht as I thought we controlled the game and our passing was great , we was always first to the ball ect.

I thought we played well down the wings ect but we needed a CF in the box . Perhaps to hold the ball up . It was too easy for eghams defenders to get the ball away . Imo we should of had Lorraine up there for the whole game to get on the end of those crosses.

I was well wrong there. 443 on a tuesday just before Christmas excellent turn out.
Shame about the result, but still in pole position when games in hand taken into account and even allowing for the "game that never was".

In future seasons can we just by-pass December!!!

Completely agree. Lorraine came on far too late, nobody was occupying the two centre halfs and Tommy and sedge were far too far apart! That final half an hour would've suited Lorraine a treat! Same with Hall, I think the conditions would've suited him more than Claudio, but it's easy in hindsight isn't it?
