Fleet just didn't turn up for the first twenty minutes or so, not quite sure where their heads were.

Was a bit more even after that, was some sloppy defending from both teams. Courtney had his best game for us in my opinion, was a real shame that rocket didn't find the net!!

Not surprised at the attendance to be honest, we usually get around 300 for mid-week games. I think had we not had an FA Cup game at the weekend we may have seen a few more.

Fleet were terrible tonight and what a goal fest the first half was.. I was expecting another 3-4 in the second half to warm the hands and feet up but wasn't to be. An excellent job by all in keeping fleet to a minimum. Only thing was a bit of dilly dallying going on in defence at times but other than that a job well done. Berwick and Herbert superb tonight and was impressed seeing hall for first time.

Think with a fit Hoban and hall on the wings could cause a few teams some problems. Should be a great game Saturday..

As with the attendance ain't surprised really and it's only going to get worse, champions league night and a real chill in the air will start to put some fans/floaters off.. No doubt they'll come out the woodwork for Saturday/or the 1st round

76 at Egham and 77 at Hanwell for the other two games in our division on the night. ;)

I can't believe (well actually I can) that there are still complaints about the attendance. There was a home game on Saturday, there's another one next Tuesday and in between you have a massive away game. Then your opponents struggle to get half their team from Hampshire let alone the fans. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Hall was different gravy.

Totally agree with your sentiments.
It annoys me immensely when someone says that they were 'disappointed with today's or last Saturday's crowd'. In fact that's exactly what happened to me prior to last night's match who thought the crowd last Saturday should have been 100 more! I told him the attendance is what it is, we were here weren't we and rather than expressing disappointment I said it's incumbent on them (and all of us) to encourage more people to come rather than bleating about it!

This is revealing.

Although I only agreed with the attendance I can't see how someone raising it should be shot down. It's a common subject on here regardless of how higher priority it is or be it rain or shine. Even for the massive games in the cup or league, if the attendance is 800 then people will wonder why it didn't reach 900!!

I'm sure there are plenty of people trying to bring someone, tell people who are still unaware of the club to take a trip to the dog and duck, I know I have, not sure about my success rate though. When my 4 year old lad runs round wicksteed in his diamonds top it strikes up much conversation with a few people asking who it is and talking to some ride operators! Although some have said they're k*ttering so that's a brick wall conversation.. A lot of people will go home and forget they've even spoken to me..

I think it should be classed as passion rather than bleating, the fans are a passionate group. People should be encouraged to come rather than lay down and accept the attendance for what it is surely? I'm sure if this was the summer ways could be thought of to attract the floaters so the winter should be no different in my opinion.. Surely always aiming higher is the way forward??

Not sure how the profits work with the burger hut towards the club but with McDonald's opening next door what's going to happen with people walking in with drinks and (not sure why but a food bag)? Is there going to be someone on the gate stopping this or will this be permitted..

Admittedly not a difficult game for the referee, Akil Howson, but the fact I don't think we in the commentary team mentioned him once proves what a good game he must have had.

You are surely not suggesting that the "pap" that is the Bog Mac is in anyway equal or superior to the quality or price of our own Burger Monster!!!!

We could take a leaf out of MacDonalds book and put up signs " Only food purchased on these premises may be consumed"

At the moment I am more concerned about the mess and inconvenience being caused by the ongoing works. What would happen if we were to draw a big club at the D & D in the First round of the FA Cup next Monday.

Surely we're not comparing ourselves to Egham and Hanwell in terms of support.

I stand by my original comment as the attendance was disappointing to me. That being said, we played AFC Kempston Rovers on the corresponding Tuesday last season (there was a similar first half in that game to the one last night) and had a crowd of 342, so perhaps last night's crowd was predictable.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I don't think we'd get many people coming in with a bag from McDonalds, they'd either eat there before the game, or after if they really wanted to.

Personally I wouldn't have a McDonalds when Hayden's burgers are far superior!

Regarding the attendance, it was a cold Tuesday night, with Champions League on BT Sport. Unfortunately for us, some would rather stay inside and watch a premier league side.

It's one of the things that annoys me when I see people wearing Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal shirts walking around Rushden. When they've probably never been to see them play in their life.

There are also people who don't realize we reformed. I've spoken to at least 3 or 4 people who when I mention who I support, reply with "Oh, I thought they went bust".. I'd imagine many more think that, there are also the old Dr Marten's workers who refuse to watch us because they blame the OLD club for them losing their jobs.

Sorry to go off a bit, but needed to get it out there! :P
