All seems a bit odd but I guess he's just trying to say what he feels is the most appropriate thing to say at the time he's been asked about it. Still, always great to hear us linked with good players, be interesting to see how this one develops.
I see our local reporter is in no doubt about his opinion (or should I say 'fact')...

@Adam_Arsenal @NTelegraph not really sure what you mean by that. But he is too good for UCL, that's a fact

According to the Daventry Express, he is about to sigh for Rugby, and that it`s alleged is from the Daventry Manager.

Never going to happen. I'm interested to why people think Alfie would improve the squad.

Anyone got any news on where Tommy Berwick is heading?? Nothing in the Daventry Express after they quoted he was on the way to Rugby, however Rugby have since signed Richard Gregory a striker from Stratford Town and confirmed a deal keeping Lewis Rankin at the Club till the end of the season he is also a front Man.
On a separate note Daventry have announced that yesterday what was a duel registration deal with Parky has now changed and he has signed for them, presume we await confirmation before a post appears in Ex Players thread. If this is correct, all the best Parky, a great servant to the Club during his time here and a genuinely nice bloke on and off the pitch.

If this is correct doesn't this make us a tad exposed in central defence if Liam or Jack get injured or suspended or is this another position that Brad will have to cover? I suppose Jamal could be 'recalled' if necessary.

There's no doubting he's a legend, he's earned that with the goals he scored.
But, if he did come back to us he'd have to accept that he'd be benched at certain times, and accept the fact that he's not top dog, which is why I think he threw his toys out of his pram, and left originally.
Just my opinion. Personally I'd love to see him back.
Edit: By the way, where is Alfie at the moment? He didn't feature in either of our games against Wellingborough

Regarding Parky I believe Jamal Clarke tweeted that he was at the game on Tuesday, so maybe we are about to welcome him back into the fold.
Regarding Alfie....we have never replaced him!
He always looked likely to score and his record was superb (albeit most against first div sides)
I just don't have the same confidence in Turner, Lorraine or Joseph in front of goal
A successful team needs a 30 goals a season man, and Alfie is that man.
At the last Fans Forum Peaksy said the door is always open to Alfie, now is the time for a fit properly motivated Alfie to knock on that door.
