Such a tragedy of a young lad, believed to have been 9 or 10. I can't imagine sending my boy to school and him not returning home. I work with Corey Mcgovern, the s and l goalkeeper who was between the sticks the last game of the season. Not sure how I didn't realise the game was going ahead until I read your message trek, otherwise I might have popped along, but yes a fantastic turnout at a sad time...Trek wrote:Record crowd of 1080 to watch S & L Corby play Rothwell Corithinans last evening. Well done the folk of Corby! ;)
More news on that incident:BartonRaz wrote:Banbury V Hereford for me. Although Banbury's game against Slough today was abandoned after the referee was hit on the head with a bottle, so that may get replayed on Tuesday.
No sign of any increased stewarding as a result, although last night was their biggest home league crowd of the season (344) so maybe it's beneffited them. ;). In all seriousness there was a really interesting programme piece from the 'Editor', saying the fact that the incident happened and subsequently made national headlines might end up scuppering some sizable sponsorship deals they had lined up.Bob's Bitch wrote:More news on that incident:BartonRaz wrote:Banbury V Hereford for me. The ref sounds a bit wimpy from that report!
Sorry to quote myself, but I've just seen on Twitter that Daventry's manager has resigned.BartonRaz wrote:I heard at the weekend that Daventry's financial backer and Chairman is looking to sell up ASAP.
