Been there and done that. South Rushden had a team , but it was so difficult to get everyone to commit every week(family responsibilities, raging missus etc ) that it ground to a halt. :( I also remembered why I gave up running a men`s team in the first place (although looking back, I would n`t have missed it for the world to be fair.)

I think everyone should get behind the idea of Bob, Jim, Chas, Brownie, DC, Ralph etc. providing a demonstration of this form of the game during half-time of the Yaxley game. It would be educational and entertaining! ;)

Sorry Boys but Fat Pat has offered me £200 a game to play for Spending Utd over 50 walkers. Well I think he said walkers though the line was dodgy may have been chewed by a coypu. Still looking for a keeper he told me so if you know a good cat? No DC a cat in footy terms is not someone who just eats, sleeps & sh..ts all day.

Starting this Thursday, no booking neccessary.

Walking footballs first session took place tonight and it was really enjoyable. The rules take a bit of getting used to and it is difficult not to run.
I hope a few more people turn up next week as you don't know what you're missing!

Had a great time at Raunds last night, met some new people, worked up a bit of a sweat, kicked Chas ( and bruised my big toe) :oops: . We roped in a few dads of the lads that Biff was training on the other pitch that I know , and they jumped at the chance and loved it.
The big difference is stifling the urge to run. Passing has to be good and to feet, none of the passing into space for an overlapping full back malarkey, as he won`t be able to walk fast enough. :lol:
I heartily recommend it, getting exercise that is n`t boring and arduous, and some good natured entertaining banter thrown in. Everyone is supportive,most had n`t played for over twenty years and there were blokes even older and fatter than me, nobody cares . It`s all about having fun.
What are you waiting for?? ;)
