I'm not so sure that is a good thing.

He did indeed - he was the Long Buckby Captain when they won the UCL premier in 2011-12, with Faz and Dunks scoring a hatful of goals - http://www.longbuckbyafc.co.uk/Matchreports.aspx (select 2011-12)

No idea, just noticed the Long Buckby connection and assumed he'd be looking for a club over this way. The sort of player we'd probably be looking to attract given his recent past. Must have freed up some money in the budget with all these departures. ;)

He is a centre mid who pulls the strings, I saw him play a couple of times for Buckby and he certainly impressed!

Comes from Northampton as well. I'm sure there'll be plenty of teams speaking to him though. Would be a quality acquisition, a real team man, and a captain.

So Steve Spriggs has finally managed to play for us. What was the verdict on him from those who watched him yesterday?

If he's half as good as his old man who I saw play for Cambridge United many times (416 appearances - club record) in the late 70's/early 80's including a few seasons in the old Second Division, under Ron Atkinson/John Docherty, then he's a very useful player.

I thought he did ok . Supported his full back ( Wilkinson) well, got around the park and put in 2 or 3 excellent crosses. Too early to see the full picture but promising.
