I get the impression that AFCRD are just a 'cash cow' to other Division 1 clubs, that's why many clubs don't want us to gain promotion this season. I take it the Dog n' Duck clubhouse will remain open after the Doughboys match has finished? If so, the best place for a pre match drink.

Well, from the point of view of the other clubs, they do probably make as much money in one day when we come to town as they do for the rest of the season, so I guess you can't really blame them. Though like others I won't give much money to a nasty club like Whitworths either.Trek wrote:I get the impression that AFCRD are just a 'cash cow' to other Division 1 clubs, that's why many clubs don't want us to gain promotion this season. I doubt the management will appreciate the cash, they will still slag us off on the UCL Facebook page, if and when we beat them.

I'm assuming we'll be allowed in the D&D pre-match since Wellingborough's game will nearly be over? If not the pub will do good business that day! Oh and if the entrance fee is any higher than £5 then I'll be staying in our clubhouse as well. They deserve to be taught a lesson.

Watch out for BPW tactics of including a programme and 'raffle' ticket in with the entry

Not sure that I am going to go as I don't want to give them any money, if I do go then will not be spending a penny more than I have to.

Re: Programme Sale at Whitworths
Out of interest, what sort of clubhouse facilities do Whitworths currently possess? I'm aware that their clubhouse burnt down 18 months or so ago and that they have recently applied for planning permission for a permanent replacement but do they have the ability to deal with an expected large crowd with respect to the provision of refreshments. There is nothing on their 'tumbleweed' OWS that gives any indication of their facilities, admission charges etc.
