I hope JE can make a formal complaint about this ref, cos he lost us a point
For the record? Mr Steve Creighton of BERKS should now change his name by deed poll to Mr.S.Cretin and become a monk or something, he is shite at refereeing !!!
Well it's funny you say that.. ;)

Oxford Utd: Clarke, Batt, Wright, Day, Tonkin, Bulman (Chapman 69), Hargreaves, Clist, Midson (Matthew Green 63), Cuntstable, Deering (Francis Green 90).
Subs Not Used: Turley, Creighton.
Now thats a coincidence.....or not hmmmm ;)

Alas that is all very well and good assuming that the referees are better in higher leagues, but unfortunately, i very much doubt there is a huge difference. We will still have the same problem! The standard of refereeing is getting worse, and imo is something that needs to be urgently addressed. From what i remember, about 10 years ago, we would not have been having this conversation. It is easy for people to say that this is due to more video technology, which to an extent is true, but not when the problem goes as far down the leagues as BSP. So what is the answer? I just wish i knew the answer!

Quotes from the Poxford Forum:
The 1st was a blatant pull the 2nd was a bear hug!!

thought the ref did well, better than most we've had let it flow well and got the majority of decisions right.
Ref had aterrific game and easily the best I've seen this season. I'm not just basing it on the award of a couple of contentious penalties, he let play go and wasn't the usual whistle happy joke we get. Didn't blow up every time a player hit the deck and could seemingly distinguish between a hard but fair challenge and a foul.
Top class - for this league
Reading all that isnt calming me downone bit after last night

The linesman on our side managed to trip over his own flag (whilst still holding it) and lose his cards and notebook from his pocket as well.
The only decision he made and got right was quickly over-ruled by the referee, thus maintaining his poor standard of the rest of the evening.

As well as agreeing with what has been said so far, the other things I found bizarre was how he had so many "one on one" chats with the likes of Constable, yet the showed the last three yellows from such a distance you couldn't really be sure who they were intended for. His antics after the second penalty were something I've never seen before - after awarding it he ran 20 yards away from all of the players, seemed to have 30 seconds of "quiet contemplation" and then brandished the two yellows. At the restart he seemed to be keeping as far away from the players as possible - very odd indeed.

Having said that, it does look like Louis has hauled him down imo. He has got hold of his arm anyway!

I think the first one could have been, although the Oxford player had no chance of getting to the ball either way. The second was absolutely ridiculous.
