Rushden FC or Rushden II for me.

Why don't we take KC's idea of East Midlands Diamonds then? Will probably get better coverage nationwide; more people know where the East Midlands is than they do Rushden/Irthlingborough.

Anything not having Rushden, Higham or Irthingborough in the name.

I like East Northants Diamonds. ;)

This thread just proves what a hard task it is.

Some want a Diamonds name, others a Rushden name.

Anything with "Northants" in is just plan wrong.

How about Nene Diamonds?

I was thinking about this last night, thinking let's get the important stuff sorted first then worry about the name after. I'm 110% behind a pheonix club, I was the lad who asked for the show of hands in support of it, but then after seeing suggestions by the godfather, who has always been very pro-rushden, such as 'rushden fc etc, I honrstly don't think that would get my support. So thr name of the club is extremely important! I'm sure the vast majority of those in support of the pheonix club would agree with me when I say the new club must have both 'rushden' and 'diamonds' in thr name, this would keep our history and identity. I don't think things being a mouthful is that bad a thing.. How is afc rushden and diamonds harder to proonounce than rushden and diamonds fc?. I'm not against the whole 'AFC' thing although I don't see it as essential and its alomost copying the likes of wimbledon. My persoanl choices would be; AFC Rushden and Diamonds, Rushden Diamondds FC or Rushden and Diamonds Utd FC. But lile someone has said, when a comittee is formed we can hold a vote on a shorlist of names.

Whatever the name, I'll still watch!

My favourite from those mentioned above is 'The Diamonds FC'.
