Not the best tie we could have had, but not the worst by a long way!

Found this http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/interview ... reens.html which makes for interesting reading - shows what a turbulent few years they have had!

We definitely owe them one for that 1-0 defeat and hopefully we'll get our revenge on the 1st!

4G pitch too !! Will be an interesting afternoon - play like we did last Saturday and it's definitely winnable.

Would have preferred a home tie of course - but away days like last weekend can be fun :drinks:

£7500 for the winners !! Prize money starting to get very serious !!!

Under 21's play at Islip Playing Fields now.
I couldn't remember the name of the place they played last season. Was it Raunds school, anyway still would be handy to play a couple of training sessions on 3G.
I have seen a couple of games this season on 3G at Eastbourne and it does make a difference. No uneven or unpredictable bounces, and a half decent player can better judge the strength/accuracy of his passes. In their first match of the season the Eastbourne keeper was continually overhitting his goalkicks which went straight through to opposing keeper, but by the time I saw him again two weeks ago he had got the hang of it. In that first game it took the opposition until the second half to get to grips but by then they were two goals down.

A mention for us in this blog. It seems that they recognise the threat we may pose.

Seem like a reasonable bunch. Fair comments, I don't recall much vocal support from their fans though, so they may struggle to out sing us!

Brownie wrote:Think we owe them one after last time, stuck in traffic got there at 2.28 and Ref said no to delaying ko as it was not past 2.30, and the keeper they had signed on loan that week from Reading?? Pulling of a couple of worldies especially the double save from Jason Turner in 2nd half, not that I'm bitter about the last encounter. That was the start of the end for Joe Henderson wasn't it.
Incredible as it may seem the goalkeeper that day was one Ben McNamara, the same guy that was between the sticks for Concord on Saturday..

It was whilst reading the Hendon guys blog that I realized it was the same keeper.
