I think the furthest trips will be to Northwich if them and / or Witton Albion are also in the NLP1S - just under 130 miles from the D&D. Measuring from the D&D there would be nine trips over 100 miles next season in this league, contrasting with the single trip over 100 this season. It will add around 25 miles to the average trip distance for the bulk of our fans from East Northants.

From a personal point of view moving into the Northern section would be a disaster. I wouldn't be able to make any away games realistically. With the exception of maybe Spalding and Stamford. Even those 2 journeys would be a pain in the arse!

At the end of the day, it's not our choice, we get put where we get put. Remember if we'd got promoted we'd have had a number of long trips down to the South West with the likes of Weymouth, Bideford etc, so it's swings and roundabouts. We can't complain, we just have to get on with it!

It certainly looks a far more professional league than the Southern Premier from a Communication point of view - it has a well maintained website with lots of current news stories, a visible press officer, and isn't afraid to publish the league handbook for general consumption - http://www.nplmembers.com/index.php?opt ... Just a thought if we go North won't this 'Goalkeeper's number 17' issue rear it's ugly head? We only, in any event, had a one season dispensation to use 17 from the Southern League and member clubs were going to be consulted on a formal rule change. Haven't heard anymore on that one.

I agree but a nice weekend in Weymouth or Bideford would be welcome in August/Sept. Not so sure about a cold wet January in Barnsley though.

I do have relatives in Lincoln that are overdue for a visit.

Possibility of one the newest clubs ie Diamonds playing the oldest club in existence Sheffield FC

One other bonus is that we may hold onto Shawn Richards who favours the northern division due to where he's based

And that can only be good news, he's always been class whenever he's played for us.

Also: what a class handbook that is!!!

Hearing on the grapevine that Kings Langley may be refusing promotion due to financial issues. Will that mean reprieves at Step 3 or maybe losing Playoff finalist will be promoted? :good:
