Credit to Jack Ashton for pushing a decent centre back down the pecking order.

Credit to Jack Ashton for getting back into the swing on things so quickly. Nice to see Charlie Butt playing for the U21s, would like to see him pushing for the first team soon.

If I were manager - and thankfully I'm not - Delroy Gordon would be my starting right back week in week out, so I'm quite surprised at that one unless it's about getting fit.

Re: Wilkinson, I'm amazed it's gone this far to be honest.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Really?! I think he's been poor whenever he's played at right back, and no better than average at centre back, which I believe is now his favoured position (he started out as a right back in our youth team many moons ago). The biggest underachiever in our squad this season IMO.

No arguments with your views on Wilkinson though.

It's a shame that Joe Merrill didn't have the ambition to stay with us because I think he would be at least as good as anyone else we have had in that position since, especially from an attacking point of view.
I'd have liked to see him combining with Shawn Richards down the right wing - that would have given most left backs a few nightmares.

I agree that Gordon has been disappointing when played at right back but he is more mobile than Wilkinson.
