Re: Attendances - final average?
I would like to see us get another 3000 in the four games which would put us in top 50 with average of 575 and above my local/other team Eastbourne Borough.

Re: Attendances - final average?
Who cares, attendances don't win titles ;)
Interesting looking at the league above and their averages, all obviously boosted by the Ploppies, IF we go up (still not counting chickens here) we'd be the best supported team there next season too - obviously I haven't looked who else might join the league, mainly because I can't be bothered
We'll get a good number for the Welly game if the local press push it for us, the rest I see as 600-650, Buckby may be lower than expected due to the Bank Holiday factor and people being away (like me!). :P

Agreed Jim but attendances are a vital factor in allowing a team to continue to grow and progress up the NLS system, bringing in much needed finance, at the gate and other match day sales and creating an atmosphere which improves match day experience. ;)Pigman wrote:

It would be nice next season if we match or exceed the Ploppies average attendance this season although we might take more fans to away matches than they've done this season.

I do agree attendances don't win the league, but attendances helps a club grow (us) with the gate money, food/drink money, programmes sales etc, this all helps the club grow with much needed finance, so the squad can continue to grow.

Re: Attendances - final average?
It was said tongue in cheek chaps, hence the ;)
It'll be really interesting to see if the potential league and cup double can bring in new punters and even more interesting if we can retain them next season (whatever league we're in ;) ).
To move forward as a club we need to make sure we build and grow our fan base, that hasn't happened to quite the level I thought our success this year would bring if I'm honest, but you only have to look at the table above to realise that our average is still mighty impressive for the level we are at (or the one above) my glass is definately half full here, I'm not moaning about it, just an observation.
IF we go up it would be nice to beat the Ploppies average from this year ;)

Re: Attendances - final average?
Agreed. There's been a few clubs who played at Southern League level but were unble to sustain it, Rothwell Town and Raunds Town come to mind. Also Wellingborough Town when they reformed in 2004 had a good following in the first couple of years but were unable to gain promotion to Step 4 and then fans lost interest and drifted away.Pigman wrote: To move forward as a club we need to make sure we build and grow our fan base...
I think we need to persuade more of the youngsters connected with the Community setup to watch us, and bring their parents!
