Re: [ TONIGHT! ] First Team v Peterborough Utd XI
It was a good attendance for a Friday night game against a Peterborough XI, it bodes well for better Saturday turn-outs particularly if we've a team that plays attractive attacking (winning hopefully) football. Also a good game, in which Boro had a fair amount of possession but rarely threatened. Our two centre-halves of Hope & McDonald looked unbeatable last night and it's got to be a contender for the best pairing in our division. Going forwards we look the part, Alfie & Deven look a solid pairing with Alf having the pace & Dev the tricky skills. If Starms can mould these two to work as a team it has the potential to be a formidable strike partnership in the Micky Nuttall/ Dale Watkins mould. Some well taken goals too.
A fantastic night all round.
ps ; by the way Mr Fry, you can buy Alfie Taylor for a quarter of a million £ ;)

Had a quick word with Barry. He was in the same class as my late wife Phyllis at Elstow school Bedford...I also worked with his Dad Frank at the then Post Office Telephones....according to my wife he was always "a bit mad "even in those days.I folloSTAGMAN wrote:You don,t mean my dear wife do yuo.
Also fair play to barry fry he bought a programme and some grand draw tickets
wed his career from day one and always believed he was pushed into things too early in his career by his Dad.... Man U and all that as a schoolboy.....was never that good. Still a great character in the game though. ;)
