Re: Desperate measures.....
I see a fans forum has been organised at the Plops on Friday - echoes what happened with us, I wonder if KC has called it again, as the ET are saying it wasn't called by Sadact.
Do you think it'll be another - "you must raise X amount by 28th Feb" ???
Perhaps the true scale of their debt will come to light.
The parallels are amazing!

Re: Desperate measures.....
It doesn't look good does it? Why wait to make an announcement of a takeover after the deadline has shut?
I have no doubt in my mind that will be a "we've tried but failed to takeover the club" now we need X amount to stave of liquidation.

I know we weren't given much time or much of a chance but I think they've got even less of both than we had. Surely they'll have the weekend to raise whatever the tax bill is? I wonder how many players will leave today.

Re: Desperate measures.....
I would very surprised if a takeover of KTFC is just announced at a Fans Forum. Surely that's not the way that things are done? Usual for the outgoing Chairman to sit at the table in front of invited press to announce that he is handing over the club 'debt free' to the fine people sitting either side who will have the vision, drive, commercial expertise etc. etc. to take the club to the next level.........

Re: Desperate measures.....
 Brilliant!
Anyway even if Lee Thorn takes over, no-way has he got the financial muscle or corporate niche to get the club running on an even-keel.
Apparently he was the guy who allegedly "sold" all the corporate boxes for the season, which didn't come to fruition, he had a big falling out with IL which is why the deal has stalled (according to one poster on Ploppynet).
The deal would have been done by now to give the new owners time to get players in, new manager etc and pay off the clubs debts before the hearing.
It aint happening Plops, get moving with that UCL team.

It's certainly looking like a repeat of the meeting that KC called - http://www.northantset.co.uk/sport/foot ... witterfeed
The only positive outcome I can see for this meeting on Friday if a deal can be done with the Landlord at Rockingham Road, so they can move back there next season to play in the Southern League, after going into administration with a new owner picking up the HMRC / Football debts and fielding a youth / scratch side for the remainder of this season. That might be more likely if the landlord is able to build on some of the land at Rockingham Road - e.g. the car park / bowling alley area. I can't see any way the fans would be able to clear the debts and fund the club to play at Nene Park.
As far as has been noted, nobody else has piggybacked onto the HMRC winding up order, so that might help such a solution.

Re: Desperate measures.....
So I was right then, it is exactly what we thought – asking the fans to raise £35,000 for HMRC and £4,000 for Southend Manor or the club is liquidated.
I’d imagine other debts will also be revealed on Friday, as I believe there is a long list of creditors.
This saga is incredible, mirroring ours down to a tee.
The Rockingham Road idea is an interesting one Tony, would Pickering really be willing to do a deal, because he hasn’t so far.
Why change his mind now, did he just have something against Ladick?
I still don’t believe the club will be able to sustain full-time Conference footie at such a dilapidated ground.
Conf North at best.

I think there is a positive sign regarding Rockingham Road in that Mr Pickering has sanctioned a memorial game there this weekend.
I agree it wouldn't support Conference football any more - but could support Southern League if a seating area could be saved.
