Was told this morning by my generally unreliable source at KTFC that a deal is very much on the cards to buy the club, possibly already done. Thought nothing of it but see on Poppynet that some people on there have heard similar and are stating it as fact.

We shall see. Got to be done by Tuesday surely.

I see there's a realisation on Poppynet that they really do need to try to appeal to the local communities to try to boost attendances to a level that might make Nene Park work - perhaps they've seen that we've got over 400 members for AFC RD before a men's team has even kicked a ball and are realising that they need to start embracing locals before it's too late.

I think they've forgotten how much their fans alienated anyone who did go along to Rockingham Road to see a game, whether the Diamonds were involved or not. The neanderthal attitudes seen there made many vow to avoid the place like the plague, so even those few people who might have thought about going along to watch a local game of football at Nene Park this season would have been put off with the thought of who they might end up standing / sitting next to.

Anyone who was a true R&D fan wouldn't even contemplate going to watch K*ttering. I didn't even consider it.

The thing that made me laugh, was when Imraan said in an article in the ET, that there seemed to be a lot of apathy towards the club in the area.
What did he expect? that all would be forgotten and we would all rock up at Nene Park like nothing happened, and be best mates with the very fans we despise!?

Remember that desperate, fake letter from Pete Fish of Finedon in the ET, who was apparently a Diamonds fan but turned to K*ttering? That clearly changed a lot of minds!

The average home attendance is probably around 1,100, which just goes to show that if any Diamonds 'fans' did switch over, the number that did was very minimal.

Since the winding-up order was announced I always expected them to get out of it and a consortium of some sorts to take over, however I'm beginning to think otherwise. There's a day and a half before the close of the transfer window and they've got a caretaker Caretaker Manager in charge. It would be financial madness to 'invest' in them, just throwing money down the drain.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

I must admit, I don't know a single ex-RDFC fan that goes to watch KTFC on a regular basis. In fact I could extend that even further in that I don't know a single RDFC fan that has set foot in Nene Park since KTFC moved in.

Does anyone?

Something that's been niggling away at me.....

Ladick keeps harping on about this sponsorship money from DRC Locums being the cause of all the Ploppies problems. The money allegedly owed is £237,600 (http://www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk/story.php?story_id=935) and would apparently stop them from going bankrupt.

Now, I could have got this completely wrong, but didn't Lee Thorn offer to write off any debts up to £250k as part of his deal to buy out Ladick? If so, and assuming they actually do only need to find £237,600 to keep the club going, why didn't Ladick bite his hand off? He could have walked away without spending another penny, and if the sponsorship money from DRC Locums is genuinely owed to them, the Plops would have had a nice little £237,600 windfall. If not, at least they would be able to start over with a clean slate.

Surely he is just using the DRC Locums money as a smoke screen to hide the true magnitude of the level of shite they are in. What's more, the Plops fans seem oblivious to it!

As I understand it the alleged debt is £198,000 plus VAT amounting to £39,600 so any value to KTFC is only £198,000 if they were able to convince Hamiliton Bradshaw to pay.

Furthermore Thorn offered to pay off debts to £250,000 via his company, RTS (Roadrunner Transport Services) therefore you could safely assume that the actual debts of KTFC Management Ltd, excluding director's loans, at the date of this offer over a month ago were in excess of the £250,000 figure.
