Well that was certainly a game to remember for many things. Until Ray got sent off it looked like we were bound to score sooner or later. But the boys really dug in and worked their socks off. Great win and well deserved. We have a really decent side this year

I actually thought Poku flung himself down a little bit and thats probably what made the ref book him for diving. Seemed to be ahead of the defender so didn't need to do it. Took a silly first yellow for booting the ball into the goal after the whistle had gone. Like to see the highlights on it, all happened quite quicklyAFCRD_Dan wrote: Sun Sep 28, 2025 10:10 am Great performance from the lads, especially after going down to ten men. Personally I thought it was a penalty, but others around me didn’t think so. Absolute joke of a referee, even the Long Eaton players didn’t think it was a sending off, but it’s always risky when a player is on a yelllow. Don’t think we can appeal either, since it was a second yellow?
I believe there was an assessor from the FA in attendance? Hopefully we don’t see that referee again any time soon.

My initial thought was that he went down easy and it wasn't a penalty, but that to book him for diving was very harsh. Having watched it back (better view from our vlogger friend Dash).
if I'm honest I can probably see why the ref decided it was a dive booking and definitely not a penalty.
Doesn't mean I think the initial yellow was fair cause I don't think it was, but good to see it again.
We did brilliantly well to keep the game as even as it was after that though, defended very well and still managed to look threatening going. Certainly got a lot of luck with both goals, but sometimes you make your own luck and it felt like a significant victory against a fancied team once again. 4 wins out of 4 in September, it has been a fantastic month and I believe something special is definitely cooking for the rest of the season, this team has got quality to it!

I didn't feel any of the first three were yellows. The Long Eaton yellow early on was a woeful call - a push in the back from Tyler and the guy stumbled into the ball. Ray's first yellow i am convinced the referee wasn't going to book him until the keeper rushed 18 yards and was arguing for a yellow. Looking at the ref's stance when blowing for the offside nothing about him looked like he was reaching for a card. Then the second yellow for Ray - he was running around the defender who put his arm out to ease Ray aside. It happens time and time again in a game. Ray goes down at speed. No penalty for me and certainly not a dive. It's a game where contact is allowed.
As for the game i felt we were in control until the red - perhaps not creating loads but LEU only had pop shots from distance and Lewis didn't really have much to do. The second half was a backs to the wall performance. I'm sure all of the players slept well into Sunday afternoon.
