New Home - Sign the Petition

Post by BartonRaz »

Thanks to everyone that attended the AGM last night. Details are a potential new home were discussed.

Details around it can be found here: https://afcdiamondsnewhome.com/

The stadium has been included in Redington Capital's vision document for the Site, viewable here (Page 24): https://afcdiamondsnewhome.com/wp-conte ... cument.pdf

A petition has been set-up to hopefully show North Northamptonshire Council how much this means to the people associated with the Club and the community generally. Please share this far and wide and, of course, sign it yourself. https://www.change.org/p/support-afc-ru ... m=copylink

Here is a link to a post on X that we would like people to share if possible:

This is fantastic news — huge congratulations to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone.

It’s always been clear to me that, without a major financial backer, the most viable path to securing our own stadium was through Local Plan allocation. This route allows future developers — who would already be expected to deliver substantial community infrastructure as part of a development of this scale — to fulfil those obligations by delivering a stadium and associated facilities.

This approach not only ensures that AFC R&D secures a new home without bearing the full financial burden, but also provides the wider community with valuable new amenities. It’s a true win–win for everyone involved.

Not sure what the petition really achieves (never a great believer in petitions) but as and when NNC start their Local Planning consultations, we will need to flood those various stages of consultation with just how important the new facilities will be for AFCR&D, the new communities created and Rushden more widely.

Very exciting future ahead!
