I felt it was a bit of a get out of jail yesterday. SC did miss a couple of sitters but came across as a side that will probably be about 6th or 7th come the end of the season and i see that they beat the Doughboys in their last league game and they have had a good start to the season, so all in all a good result at the end , well stuck at it lads

But if we're honest with ourselves, we got away with it today and on another day against a team that could finish could have been well beaten, we were second best for 90 minutes and just too slow, and despite being the usual bunch of whingers you get at this level, SC will surely be kicking themselves for not coming away with three points today.

Point gained today for sure and to be able to play poorly but still find a way getting something out of the game is a good sign of things to come, but we need to be better in future games if we are to compete with the stronger teams at this level.
Not saying I disagree with the general point, it was a bit of a smash and grab on Saturday, but I would encourage a bit of perspective with regards the final comment. We were never going to go from being 15 points behind at the bottom of the table to competing with the best teams in the league in 6 months.

It's early days but our start has been much better than I'd anticipated and I never expected us to be able to compete with your Anstey's and Corby's of this league. I think that's probably the external view also given the amount of negative comments about the Step 5 players we signed in the summer. Most of them are holding their own and in some cases really excelling, which I think has come as a pleasant surprise to most.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Sutton Coldfield will be in and around the top 10 this season, and actually we more than matched them, particularly the second half. Came on strong at the end and deserved a point purely for resilience.

Regarding the Step 5 players comments, I don't actually believe there is much difference between the top half of UCL sides and Bottom half / Mid table Step 4 sides. Look at how well Welly are doing!

Next Tuesday against Sphinx is game we should be targeting to win really.
